Hollywood Undead: Rain Meaning
Rain Lyrics
Simple things and subtleties, they always stay the same.
I don't mind, that I don't mind, no I don't mind the rain.
Like a widow's heart, we fall apart, but never fade away....

#1 top rated interpretation:To me, the song is about soldiers. There are numerous reasons. the words "like a widow's heart, we fall apart, but never fade away" When a soldier dies, his widow falls apart, but never fades. "feel the pain in the letters written with no name" When soldiers are deployed, often times schools will send letters to single soldiers with no families. The children will write "dear soldier". No name, and it can hurt in a way because it can remind them they don't really have anyone but friends stateside. "buried in red white and sides of blue" When a soldier is buried, they are buried with an american flag over them. "Some of them die to late, and somebody too soon" alot of the soldiers that die are in their twenties and early thirties, where as you have vetarains that wish they were dead instead because they are 80 or 90. "if I could take it all back, before the flags were waived at half mast" half mast is given when a soldier dies and a show of respect and honor. "some of us grow old with no home, some of us die in a cold house with no hope" Alot of veterains have a hard time transitioning from military life to civilian, and are often homeless, or cannot pay alot of their bills. "I just wrote a letter that will never be sent" Some soldiers, often, have written letters before missions, then they die before they get a chance to send them.
These are the many reasons this could be a song about soldiers and them dying. sorry it's so lengthy but I wanted to explain why I think this. -

#2 top rated interpretation:I believe it means that no matter. How bad you have it, be thankful for someone has it worse. Charlie Scene makes this evident when he says "There's no way to make it change or go back
You know that some of us grow old, with no homes
Some of us die in a cold house, with no hope
Still surrounded by the people you don't know, so don't go
Cause once it's over, the time fades your photo
How many goodbyes can fit in a lifetime?
How many good lies can make it seem alright?
What do you see when you look into my eyes?
Or in the sky before you say goodnight?" -
I think it's talking about the pain of what has happened in the past the loneliness that was forever in their hearts while watching others living peacefully happy and for once wanting to know what people think about you
"What do you see when you look into my eyes
Or in the sky right before you say goodnight"
It's talking about the suffering of not being loved or noticed the life of a son who was wanted to be cared for to be happy like the people who he saw to not feel like a burden in this world to be remembered always to live under a warm cozy home to have true parents that loved him and to always have someone there for him even if his heart is a black shadow that couldn't be cured to not cry alone not minding the rain because it's crying with you everything feels normal and sad and that's why he doesn't mind -
i feel like it's talking about a many number things. it's talking about fading away and dying. well when people are depressed they will try to fade out of they friends lives and kill themselves. it could also be military cause they get buried with an american flag. but who knows all songs have different meanings to different people. and besides fuck what we think. it's about what the band wrote about it. but idc wtf i say about it ask Hollywood Undead and then you'll understand and/or know what the song means. you can say what ever you guys want about this song or what you think it means but it don't matter what it means. cause to everyone it means something else. and to the band it could mean something that we never thought of. so fight me.

Honestly i thought that the song was about soldiers that come home and end up committed suicide, and the people who are left behind. "Hidden in the letters that were written to no name" struck me more along the lines of a suicide note or letter, because they aren't always written to someone. "I'm alone, and you're looking for your anyone, does it hurt just to know that it's all gone?" is the part where the people who are left behind are grieving for the loss and seeking comfort in one another. The line "Cause I'd give it all up if I could take it away" a bit obvious, i guess, but i interpret it as when someone would give anything to take the pain away from their loved ones so they aren't hurting anymore. as for these, "Buried in red, white, and a side of some blue, Some will die too late, and somebody too soon"e had to lose it all, just to know that we lost one" soldiers are buried with an American flag. "Some will die too late, and somebody too soon" while a lot of them are killed in action, some of the survivors wish they had died because of the nightmares that plague them (which is very common) and because of seeing their comrades killed in action. "Hi, I am just a shape in the shadow of greats. Hi, I am just a voice in the choir of saints" i think that this is about all of the so-called "nameless soldiers" as (unfortunately) a large amount of the public refer to them as, that were killed in action. "That was long before my heart became black" referencing the ones the soldiers were forced to kill "But there's no way to make it change or go back" this could be referencing regret they have for having to take lives. "Some of us die in a cold house, with no hope, still surrounded by the people you don't know, so don't go" building on what said, i think that this is about the trouble that many soldiers have transitioning back to civilian life, mainly because it is so hard to find a job; No job, no money, no money, no bills paid, you get the idea. "I could be the son that stands beside of your bed, and I could be the voice right inside of your head" a lot of the soldiers who come home and end up committing suicide hide the signs and symptoms pretty well, meaning that it can be pretty hard to know sometimes. And a lot of people in general disregard the signs, as well as the little voice that we all have in the back of our heads, giving us clues that something isn't quite right. "I could say goodbye and you know where I went" i believe that this is about them saying goodbye or some form of it, and then committing suicide. "cause
I just wrote a letter that'll never be sent" the person will know where they went, because there will be a letter that will never be sent, specifically a suicide note/letter. Guys, i know this is pretty long, but it wanted to make sure there wasn't any confusion. Also in case there is any confusion, i'm very pro-military, so i mean none of this in any way, shape, or form, as a slam against soldiers. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

As a daughter of someone who is in the military and has PTSD, the song rain seems more like for soldiers. The "how many lies before it seems alright" I think is for PTSD. My father lied to himself and to others saying he didn't have a problem. It was only until he hit me that he realized he did.

I think its about suicide tbh. like their song "Bullet" but written in a simpler manner than "SITTEN ON THE EDGE WITH MAH TWO BEST FRIENDS ONES A BOTTLE OF PILLS AND ONES A BOTTLE OF GIN" its "time fades your photo" but idk thats how i see it.

A simplistic way of showing how easily people are forgotten, which is displayed in such a manor, that you have to comprehend the aspect of your life, now don't get me wrong I'm very happy that I'm living, but how many people are going to remember you, once you die, now especially with no childhood/family to love they don't have anyone but their fans, you would think that your family would be the first people to love but in their live it's not like that. And they literally have to live with their lives, and what they've done by theirselves, with no one else to help them through their pain in life.
