It's a love that went wrong. He held on for so long when he knew that he was losing her. Something terrible happened between them causing them to finally call it quits. In the end, he grows a deep rooted bitterness towards her (when in reality he was more hurt than anything) and wishes her a terrible death and a terrible funeral.
