Mayday Parade: When I Get Home, You're So Dead Meaning
When I Get Home, You're So Dead Lyrics
Is it typical for us to act like this
Am I just another scene
From a movie that you've seen 100 times
Cause baby you weren't the first or the last or the worst
And I've got to fill the blanks in the past...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song (I may be wrong) has to do with a girl cheating on him, and it's not out of character for her. "am I just another scene from a movie that you've seen one hundred times". He has been through this before and is speaking out of anger, but she did not mean to him as much as the other girls who have hurt him in the past and who will hurt him in the future. "cause baby you weren't the first, or the last or the worst"
He emphasizes her whore-like behavior and tells her that he knows she'll continue her actions because she is insecure and trying to find self worth in other people. "this is how you get by" He lets her know that she's breaking hearts because of what she's doing "girls make boys cry".
( I think I'm wrong here) He is jealous and angry that he looked like a fool, but won't bother to cause a scene. "any other day I would shoot the boy" this is his "gift". (im not sure but...) he knows she has a problem and gets satisfaction from knowing she will probably be feeling empty and alone as she hides her insecurities behind sex.
He sees her differently "all that has changed is this pretty face" I'm not sure about the pull the trigger. Maybe he means to kill her old self? She says she wants to reform, but never does. He knows she wants to quit but doesn't.
(I hope I helped... :p I tried) -
the music video is quite entertaining. it might make more sense if you watch it. Derek and the rest of the band, (excluding ex-band member Jason Lancaster, who sings a good chunk of the song), trash Derek's girlfriend's apartment because she cheated on him quite a lot and he's sick and tired of it. all the girl pretty much wants is a physical relationship 100% of the time. Derek freaks out on the chick.("pull the trigger"' "on any other day we'd shoot the boy")
"so say hello to all the boys at the top of this table that you're under" does anyone else think that means what I think it means??
the police catch them, which explains why they're in orange jumpsuits at the police station at the beginning of the video. I'm really impressed with how good the vocals and the expressive lyrics are in MP's first EP. I think the song should be called "Lipstick Lullabies" because I don't think he's going home to her... -
I believe this song is about a girl who has been cheating on her boyfriend for a while and at first he pretended not to notice but now he's just sick and tired of it and he's calling her out for being such a whore.
