Mayday Parade: Anywhere But Here Meaning
Anywhere But Here Lyrics
And I haven't said it yet, I'm falling
And the writing's on the wall
Today was misery and I just can't believe this happened
And I've finally broke down
She held onto my heart but now my only star is falling
It's...
-
My interpretation about this song is that the guy loves a girl so much that he put all his effort in it too much but turned to break his heart, then a another girl he met a long ago will take away all his pain, never knew that girl is the one he's waiting. And same as the girl also have a feelings on the guy.
Lol this is my true story hahaha :)

My interpretation of the song after listening it multiple times and rereading the lyrics time and time again are the following:
The guy has a secret love, no maybe not referring to and affair, one could relate to whatever the listener wants to relate it with. His day was misery, and he has reached his breaking point. "She held onto my heart, but now my only star is falling, and it's burning to the ground" could he be referring to heartbreak? He wants to escape the horrible feeling of losing someone he loved greatly? Now that he is all cried out, and he has reached his breaking point, he wants to escape this misery, there is something, someone that can help him escape and he wants to escape this, he wants to go anywhere but here.

Its about a guy whos girlfriend/wife just broke up with him because of cheating. And he doesnt know what to do so he turns to cutting. As in "Secret Love". He thinks cutting will help him so he keeps doing it until he relizes its best to stop.
-
"Secret love, my escape, take me far, far away" I refer to it as cutting.
-
"When we're together thoughts of her disappear"
normally a line like this refers to cheating but
"Secret love, my escape, take me far, far away"
seems to mean that hes in a loveless relationship/marrige that he hates ("Today was misery","And I've finally broke down
") and the "secret love" could be his girlfriend outside the relationship and he truly loves ("You're all I've got right now") her and wants to be with her.
"Please take me anywhere but here, anywhere but here"
could mean he just wants to leave his life and head off with this girl.
But I'm not an expert at this and I could be tottaly wrong... -
this song might be about a guy mourning over his girlfriend leaving him (possibly for a different guy) and then cutting himself because of it. "Secret love" refers to the cutting.
"Please take me anywhere but here."
