I really feel like this song is about the last moments of a couple.
The narrator is dying, and they had their last night together "and I'll whisper that I love you, as you fall out of your clothes". Where they remembered happy times and all that
Then after that, while they were laying together, the narrator then died, but not before he told her that he loved her more -
This is an amazing song telling the story of a boy and girl who are in love, but eventually, time passes and life pushes them apart, and before too long, the girls just a memory. It's basically the concept of feeling like the person you are with can mean everything to you, but eventually you could lose them, and as time passes, they're gone, nothing to you, but a memory
