Wonderwall Lyrics

Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat the word is on the street

This song was written by Oasis to give to John Lennon. It's not about a relationship.

To me it's a story of how someone fell out of love with the writer, how they did the writer wrong, and how everyone should know how it went down but everyone else does not find out the true nature of the wrong-doer. The wrong-doer knows their actions were wrong. They know what they should do but it doesn't make a difference, they go on being naughty. It illustrates the concept of being torn between telling everyone this person is a real creep versus keeping your mouth shut, taking the high road and acknowledging that this person/experience has taught you a lesson, in effect 'saving you'. How do you tell someone you haven't forgiven that they, in a fashion, have helped you by being cruel and heartless (or insert any other unkind behavior)? No one else could feel the same way towards the wrong-doer because only the writer knows their true character and knows 'spilling the beans' won't change what happened or how anyone else feels about the person. I think that the term 'wonderwall' indicates that the writer never really understood the wrong-doer and this person encourages the writer to contemplate. I'm fairly certain this has nothing to do with the original intention of the song but it sure works for me. :)

i think this song is about weed cuz he says where the "grass" is free and the good times are "growing". then hes says to "take him away" because hes "sad here on" his own. weed makes people happy. and being under the sea is a metaphor for being under the influence. sorry everyone...but every song is about weed lol

OK so theres a movie called Wonderwall made in 1968 about a reclusive scientist whose next door neighbors are a photographer and his model girlfriend named Penny Lane (the Beatles did the whole soundtrack) and one day the scientist sees light coming thru his wall so he follows the light and sees Penny during a photo shoot through a hole in the wall. well he makes more holes and becomes intrigued and obesessed and feels as if he is a part of the couples lives. well the couple gets in a fight and penny lane takes an overdose of pills and the scientist sees and goes and saves her. the song is very parallelled to the movie and u should see it if u ever get a chance :)

I think this song is just about a guy who loves a girl and he can't tell her. but then she leaves him behind, while she doesn't know he likes her. I just have that same feeling. I really like this guy, but he just doesn't know and he leaves me behind. I feel so sad when I listen to this song. It makes people cry sometimes. Don't you just feel that feeling in your heart about this song?

I think this song is about someone who is in trouble and needs to be saved. That person's in love with their "Wonderwall", who is a girl/ boy friend. "and maybe, your gonna be the one who saves me"....
Perhaps the "narrator" is jail ridden too... "today was gonna be the day that they're gonna throw me back to you..."

It´s about a man that already has a grilfriend for many years but he´s just used to that relationship, and now he knows a girl that got in to his heart younger than the girlfriend and he really enjoys to be with this new girl, and he loves her but he feels he has a commitment with his girlfriend´s and he´s afraid of what people might say because he should be marrying the grilfriend cause all this years they have. The new young girl loves him too, but she bearly kissed him once and she´s doesn´t want to continue with that "relationship" because is like a sin. They talk, they chat, they do thing together but don´t touch ecah other.

This song could mean many things... the part about this song that really strikes me is " maybe, youre gonna be the one that saves me." That line to me, means a lot

He could be referring to a lover or a friend or even some other person, but it's like he's been beat down and he needs to be saved and that this person has realized they can help him...

but hey thats just one way of looking at it

The person is singing to a Best friend, his wonderwall, someone who inspires him and that he cares about her more than anything. I think she is married and just scared. He fall for his best friend and don't know what to do. And at the same time everyone knows because the ("fire in your heart is out") They can't hide it any more because you can see it in there eyes! .(And all the roads we have to walk along are winding, And all the lights that lead us there are blinding ) They are not together and it's killing them that they are in two different places.(At the beginning he says he realized what he had to do) He had to let she figure out what she needs to do because it can't keep going on the way it is. He don't know what to say because she's married and he wants her to figure it out for her self. I think they could save each other.

This song can be referred to as many things. It can be called a love song, a song for a friend, a imaginary friend. To me it's about love and the feelings attached to love; care. It's about someone who genuinely cares for this person, no matter what they go through, they're going to be there 'wonderwall'.

To me, wonderwall is referring to a person. Possibly a loved one, maybe a lover.
To me this song is referring to a lover, a girl, that will always be surprising him, like a hill he will always climb but never will be able to go to the top, like a person that will keep surprising him and never bore him.
i know that this sounds stupid but that's the way I've interpreted it in my head.
like an amazing love song, devoted to a person that is compared to a wonderwall.
