Oasis: Wonderwall Meaning
Song Released: 1995
Wonderwall Lyrics
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word is on the street
That the...

I agree with JEMinENG that Wonderwall ain't a love song, it's rather a song implying self survival, self rescue, nirvana. Well, those were my impressions, when I heard it for the first time. Also, the song highlights the mood of breaking free from some kinda bondage and being able to express oneself freely. Phrases like, '' Today's gonna be the day'', '' and the fire in your heart is out'', ''I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do'', etc. sounds so.
Folks who call it a love song are lovesick. And afterall, everything appears yellow to the jaundice eye.

I think that wonderwall has a deeper meaning than love and relationship issues. NOEL GALLAGHER reflects upon his own relationship and links it to the "invisible wall" people put between each other in life, society, or the world around them. The poem is solemn because it demonstrate in the analogy that this wall exists between people and always will. However, the repetition of "maybe" suggests hope. Can we ever brake the walls that separate us and be united? If not we can always wonder...

Ever seen the Rex Whistler mural at Plas Newydd, Anglesey ?
A 50ft painting done by Whistler a man tormented by his unrequited love for Lady Caroline Paget
The Mural expresses Whistlers feelings for her. His 'Wonderwall' -
me and my buddy were high and listened to this song halfway through he stopped it and said dude hes dying and he replayed it and i thought the same thing too!
when it says:
and all the roads we have to walk are winding
and the lights that lead us there are blinding.
as in hes dying and hes walking the road to heaven.
there are many things to say to you but i dont know how.
as in hes wanted to tell her things that he never did now that hes dead he wishes he could but doesnt know how to send her a sign.
because maybe you'll be the one that saves me.
as in shes the one that can bring him back to life.
your my wonder wall.
as in shes the way he can see out to what life could of been or shes the wall that blocks him from coming back or going to heaven. -
The interpretation is of a close friend, his brother. The song was originally thought to be about his girlfriend because he was put on the spot by a reporter and she was standing next to him. But he later confessed that it was truly about his brother. When put into that context, it makes better sense.

I interpret it as if it is about first love. Deep, turbulent, ends quickly but fades indeed very slowly. It'll always be there somewhere, even though you haven't been speaking for ages, the other person will still be your wonderwall in your mind, you simply put him/her on a pedestal for life, after you had time to think it over, the flaws of the other person simply fades; and there you are. Still hoping.

This song is very important to me because it was the favorite song of a friend who passed away in an accident at 18, 4 days after his birthday. He always used to, whenever he would hear this song, sing along aloud! This song reminds me of him in a good way

You should all really just watch the movie. Guess who did the music. George Harrison, 1967. The rest is self explanatory.

Well, first of all I love this song :) My ex boyfriend played it sometimes surprisingly for me when we spend time together because he knew it's my favorite song...Now I am feeling like the person in the song because I broke up with him and now after a month I can't figure out the reason why..I really regret it! Thats how I relate to the song..and I think everybody can relate to it in some way because everybody had a love break up :( But everytime I listen to it, it gives me the feeling that there is hope for me to get back together with my ex :) So maybe he is gonna be the one that saves me...

This song was originally titled 'wishing stone' and is about an imaginary friend.
To me, it represents friendship, love, and my wonderful cousin Jo. -
I think that this song is really about a man trying to convince his lover to stay with him. The opening verse seems to be him saying, today you have a choice to make, either to be with him or not. But whatever the choice is, he wants her to know, that he doesn't think anyone could love her as much as himself. Same with the fire in her heart verse, sounds to me like she is growing weary of the relationship, but she can't doubt his love for her. The verse about the road I think is symbolic of their relationship that will be a struggle, and the lights that are blinding I think symbolizes the unclear right answer. Whether they should remain together or not is not doesn't have an obvious right choice or wrong choice, but regardless, she means everything to him.

I think it is about a guy who has had his heart broaken, and it is mostly her fault "youve should have some how realized what youve got to do." she wants him back and he is in love with her. Although the road is winding and it is not easy, they will come out strong, because she is his wonderwall.

The song is actually about the Gallagher's favourite football club Manchester City, who, at the time, were performing very poorly and in danger of being relegated to a lower league.
The song is basically a message to the team to say that their fate is in their own hands. -
I feel this song is about love not just between a boy and a girl but between family members maybe someone you have lost.
