Song Released: 1995
Wonderwall Lyrics
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word is on the street

Oh I'm sure this song has many different meanings to everyone who hears it. Of course the true meaning is only known by the writer of any song. But to me.. This song means a lot to my boyfriend and I, whom of which is serving a term in Iraq. I guess you can definitely say it's a Love Song.
-
"Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you. By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do."
To me it's always meant that everyone was somehow relying on the person, who ended up letting everyone down (perhaps more than once.)
"I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now."
Everyone lost faith in the person except the singer who still loves them even after all their mistakes.
"Because maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me.
And after all, you're my wonderwall."
He still has faith in the person and they're his everything and one day may save him from his own problems. -
According to Noel on the Stop the Clocks DVD it is a love song he wrote. But I think everyone takes a different view. Some use it as a love song, some about depression and saving yourself.
This was one of my best friend's funeral song, she was only 17 and it is her favourite song. I still think of it as a love song, but in a different sense, not a lover but for a friend that will always be there as my own leaning post - my wonderwall - even if she has gone.
I dunno, that's just how I look at it. -
I heard that Noel claims that this song it´s about an imaginary friend, but in 2000 the same Noel said that nobody knows what is wonderwall, even him...Strange I know but it was on a MTV Special about the best one hundred songs of the century, I think that makes this song so special is that you can be touched by her in many meanings and you can apply her on many situations that happen to you everyday with friends, girlfrieds or boyfriends.

Well, to me, this is what I got out of the song:
There is someone he cares deeply for, whether it be a woman or a friend, and that he doesn't care what happens or how bad things get, that they will always be there for each other.
Like, keeping faith in someone when everyone else has lost hope.
But that is just my take on it, there are so many different point of views to be taken. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I just heard this song this year, and I thought that it had to do with self-actualization. I guess it's just because what's going on in my life right now, but I take the song to be about a person whose changing into someone else. They don't know if they want to change, but at the same time they don't want to stop changing into the person they could be because becoming that person could be the only thing that saves them from themselves. I know that makes no sense, but it make sense in my head. Of course, you can also apply it to a love song, or just a song about a really good friend that keeps you going. That's why this song is amazing.

The song is about someone falling in love with a married woman. It's about the fact, that even though it's not what either of them expect, they love each other, and that's all that matters. They've found each other, in a crazy situation.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song, though a beautiful love song, has nothing to do with love at all. He has been quoted saying it's about the idea of having an imaginary friend (or in essence yourself) save you from yourself.
-
Yeah it was written by Oasis... good job.
-
I thought this song was about someone with a drug or alcohol addiction, that's what I heard on vh1
-
It's somebody you can always lean on, no matter what you need their there for you.
-
I think this song is about a guy that is into some self damaging things such as drugs and he is with this girl. In the beginning she has a plan to save him, by now you've figured what you've gotta do. She convinces not only herself, but also him that she can save him. Then change happens so slow, or not at all. The fire in her heart burns out and she doesn't have that drive to save him anymore. Then she realizes she can't save him, he has to save himself and her pushing the change only made it worse, she figures out what not to do.
