    The song is about the contradictions of ones nation and the conflciting feelings its history can bring upon oneself and the nation as a whole.
    examples:
    The line "So jung, und doch so alt" makes a contradiction talking about how old the german people is but how new it is as a country.

    There is an use of the term über wich usually means big and supreme stuff but in this case are use sarcastically and in a mocking way.
