Me Against the World Lyrics

We're not gonna be
Just apart of their game
We're not gonna be
Just the victims
They're taking our dreams
And they tear them apart
'til everyone's the same
I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me...

sonic was trying to defeat eggman's robots, but it was the one time he lost with amy

in reality it simply means someone lost all control over their life / existence and then it became too difficult to appreciate the world

however positively it could simply mean 2 boys were pretending to be on an adventure

It's about someone (lets say it's a boy) who doesn't want society to rule him, to rule anyone. So he says:

"I've got to prove them wrong. Me against the world."

He doesn't want the world - society - to change him so he says that he'll prove them wrong, that he can be whatever - that anyone can be whatever, without them controlling.

It's like this now, society's taking over and in just a few years everyone will be the same, but he says that he won't let them change him and he would go against everyone.

"We're not going to let them change how we feel in our hearts. We're not going to let them control us."

Society's taking over, and Simple Plan has just put it all in this song. They're taking over, they're controlling almost everyone. No one's perfect, and no one should be.

Don't let society control you, stand up for yourself and who you are - don't change, do what the teenager in this song is doing, don't let them get to you.
