Three Days Grace: I Hate Everything About You Meaning
Song Released: 2003
I Hate Everything About You Lyrics
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven’t missed you yet
Every roommate kept awake
By every sigh and scream we make
All the feelings that I get
But I still don't miss you yet
Only when I...
-
I was watching the music video when I heard something strange. They blocked the word hit out from the part "every time we lie awake, after every "blank" we take. I don't know why, but it could be about drugs. Any suggestions anyone?
-
I think this song is about being in a bad relationship. They know they should get out of it, but they can't because no matter how much pain the person causes them they still love them.
-
Idiots. This song is about drugs.
"Every time we lie awake, after every HIT we take."
Keyword: HIT
After every HIT we take. Not literally beat the shit out of someone type of hit. He means hit from drugs.
Durfffff -
This song is clearly about methamphetamine abuse. Just listen to the lyrics. Every time we lye awake after every hit we take. Every room we kept AWAKE by every silent scream we make. Clearly a notification on meth abuse. The lyrics "I hate everything about you, why do I love you" has to do with the rush you get upon the first time you use meth.
I should know I am a recovering addict. This song actually helped me figure out a method for getting out of the dope gang.
When he says I hate everything about you he is stating how it takes more and more to get you high and it's ruining your life. When he says why do I love you he's referring to I loved the feeling I got the first time I used but now it's gone.
It's like crack, you'll forever be chasing that high you got the first time you did it. Chasing the high.
Don't use meth kids, it'll fuck your whole life up, it took me forever to clean up and now that I'm clean I can finally build back all the life I burnt down. -
The lines
"Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet"
is clearly about this guy's addiction to crack -
In general I think this is an interesting song.
-
The songs about a teenage boy who has a girlfriend and sees her making out with another boy. The boy's girlfriend is dumped by the other guy she was making out with. When th song says "I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU WHY DO I STILL LOVE YOU" means the boy hates the girl for cheating on him but he still loves her. The boy also get abused.
-
I think that they use to really love each other and they still do but they try to hide there feelings even though they say they hate each other they don't really meant it because they still have feelings for each other. because this has happen to me and its reallyu dumb because why can't you just tell ther person your true feelings instead of trying to hide it in front of everybody

To the person who said the following:
"OMFG...to the fag who posted: This song is about the lead singers addiction to heroine, he is hopelessly addicted, but loves the effects that he gets from it. He hates that he's addicted to this drug, and can't seem to find a way to get out the rut that he has dug himself into with this drug addiction>>> is a fool...they're all straight edge...they're borderline christian...fucking idiot."
You DO know the song 'Animal I Have Become' is about the lead singer's addiction to Oxycontin, right? Looks like he who did no research is the fucking idiot.
Seriously, Google it before you open your fucking mouth, asshole. -
Look morons. It can't be about drugs! sure the "I hate everything about you why do I love you" makes sense but what about "you hate everything about me"? it has to be about a relationship!

I've been around music my whole life. Both professionally (working with local bands) and unprofessionally. You can't just listen with your ears and get it, you have to listen with your heart. The actual meaning of the song when created by the band was probably about him being involved with someone or something and really not liking it, but for some uncontrollable reason he keeps going back. HOWEVER, a song's meaning to each individual can be quite different because people use music to relate to his/her own life.

His girlfriend dumped him and he hates everything about his girlfriend for dumping him but still can't get over her because he loves her.
