Alkaline Trio: Blue in the Face Meaning
Blue in the Face Lyrics
That I came clean with you
No longer fine
Im no longer running smooth
I thought that i
Found myself on to something new
Just one more line
I repeat over and over again till Im blue in the face
With a choking regret
Cuz...

I think it's about both a relationship and addiction. Blue in the face would represent heroin and because it literally says it wouldkeep him sleeping. Coke keeps you awake. If you dont have heroin, you cant sleep. Maybe it's about being in a relationship while both being addicted. Who knows? ...besides the writer. no one.... this is just a guess
-
Definitely not about coke. "Just one more line" is in reference to making excuses on why they are staying in a bad relationship. "You're coffin or mine", the song is about undying love until the end, no matter what
-
I feel that this song is about a couple who is in a bad relationship....but even though they know it's bad, it's like a drug, and they are addicted. So much so that they are willing to run themselves into the ground...literally.
-
I think this song is about blowing coke to get over a problem.
-
This song is about a guy who does coke and his girlfriend has just left him because of it.
