Alkaline Trio: Another Innocent Girl Meaning
Another Innocent Girl Lyrics
He likes to act like he's all grown up
He wanted to grow up to be an actor
But he never told anybody
He likes to spill all of his guts
On the top of a well stocked bar
And then swallow them bit by bit remembering every scar
As a valid...
-
Just an FYI - this song is about the movie Unbreakable....
-
Looks like a serial killer song preying on broken girls.

I think it's about a dude who was told by so many (including his father, whom was probably a drunk) that he isn't going anywhere. His dreams mean nothing. Hah. Society will always rip us to shreds and try to dull who we really are. But you grow up your whole life believing you are or aren't something, you'll eventually believe it. And this guy drinks and let's little pieces of himself out to random women at the bar who find that person inside so appealing and fall for his self pity shit trap. And he is so lonely that he'll sleep with them with no regards to how they will feel, shit he may actually see something with this person but he hates himself so much and is too afraid of letting them in and seeing that real person hiding inside that he'll immediately flee, leaving them confused and used. And the cycle will just continue...
And as for the part that says "and when we get home you'll see that this part of him is controlling me." Either about that self wallowing demon looming over him or a piece of his father that is stuck inside controlling him. -
Does anyone else hear him mumble something at the beginning of this song? "I drowned all my hopes into a bottle." Or something like that.
-
Dunno its sounds like another song about the manson family, dark stuff
-
I would love it if Alkaline trio themselves would give the true meanings! It really interests me as to why they have written them!

This song is about I guy who is shut off. His dreams never panned out and he sits at a bar and drinks and feels sorry for himself. But at the same time he acts like he's fine. The same guy is also attracted to "broken" girls. "Another Innocent Girl" is a nothing girl that will have to deal with him being damaged.

I don't know if its right but its what I think of when I hear the song. I think it's about someone that hid who they really were
"but he never told anybody"
and spent his whole life pretending and fooling himself more than other people. He drank to try and convince people he was who he wanted to be but he was really tryin to convince himself.
In the end he ended up alone and frail and he never lived out his dream of becoming an actor because he was too afraid of what people might think.
But I think the most important part of the song is at the end where it says,
"and when we get home
you'll see that this part of him is now part of me
And its way too easy to fake this smile lead you on
Maybe I'm wrong but everyone gets bored once in awhile"
I think this is trying to say that there is a bit of this guy in everyone and at some point or another in everyone's lives you try and be someone your not if only to escape who you really are because your bored of your own life.
Thats my interpretation of it anyway. -
i dunno , this may sound stupid but something tells me this song is about rape
