Alkaline Trio: Hell Yes Meaning
Song Released: 2001
Hell Yes Lyrics
How can you blame me?
We made plans to meet and you never showed
You kept me waiting
They said everything would work out just fine
They said you'd help me
But as it turns out it was all a lie
And they're...
-
It's about denouncing religion. Clearly.
Everyone told him God would solve all his problems, which we all know is just part of the theist propaganda machine. -
It's about religion, he wrote it for anyone levay, Matt says it himself on this video. http://youtu.be/x5zOHvY9EDo
-
Matt wrote the song about the founder of the church of Satan. The explanation can be found in the Remains booklet.
-
Look up "Matt Skiba-Hell Yes at the Note" He says the song is just a big "Fuck You"
But then again he's pretty buzzed. -
this song is purely about religion.
losing faith in god and turning to satanism.
By the way, the only reason matt skiba is a card carrier for the satanist church is because derek bought it for him as a christmas present. They went to one meeting and thought it was too heavy going.
WORDS FROM MATTS MOUTH. (I Got the DVD) -
It's about losing faith in anything, you put everything you have in something and it's all taken away. No one can say what he is, so everyone can shut the fuck up. It doesn't matter what your religion is or even if you think it's bullshit.
-
I think he's pretty much unsure if he believes in either actually! or maybe he's an atheist. The song is about religion and having your faith shattered but it could mean your faith in other people is gone by your friends letting you down.
Alkaline trio rule hell! -
Skiba is a card carrier of the church of satan. It's obviously about losing faith in a religion. How can you blame him? Religion = bullshit.
-
Don't yell at him. I'm satanist. and I love Skiba. and he is right you get the point.
-
Matt is not a fucking satanist. He doesn't believe in either, he just does it to get a rise--and it works obviously.
