Disturbed: I'm Alive Meaning
I'm Alive Lyrics
And never again will I be reminded
Of living within the world of the jaded
They kill inspiration
It's my obligation
To never again, allow this to happen
Where do I begin?
The choices are endless
Denying...

#2 top rated interpretation:The meaning of the song's is to highlight a person individuality and that people will try to make change us, but we must stay strong and remember that we should hold what's precious to us and be who we are not change because of what other's think, we must stand strong; "i am not alone, brothers, give me your arms now" says that there are people who will except you for you, this people will be like your brother; like your family.

You carry a gift, whether it's singing, drawing, writing, whatever, and those people who don't understand just wanna take it all away from you. But you won't let them, you have to keep strong because there were others just like you who fell. you got out of the place where all these people were, but they keep trying to drag you back down with them again! Aurgh! -

I believe David Draiman wrote this based on a real life experience in his childhood. As a teenager, he was forced into a religious institution, and was pressured to change himself into something he was not and become more religious.
"And never again will I be reminded
Of living within the world of the jaded"
That clearly alludes to him being pressured in the institution to change.
"The thing I treasure most in life cannot be taken away
There will never be a reason why I will surrender to your advice
To change myself, I'd rather die
Though they will not understand"
He clung on to what was precious to him, his creativity, and musical talent, rose against, and opposed to these changes. -

I can really relate to this song. It's about not letting anyone or anything dishonor you or tell you you're not good enough. Its says that no matter how much you get pushed around or told that you're not right, they can never take your life from you with words.

Be yourself, because in the end, that's all you'll ever have. Never give your individuality away
