Disturbed: Stricken Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Stricken Lyrics
Won't even bother now to tell me why
You come alone, letting all of us savor the moment
Leaving me broken another time
You come on like a bloodstained hurricane
Leave me alone, let me be this time
You...

It seems to be an interpretation of a person who is in a relationship. It explains all the difficulties and struggles a relationship has. (I thought David was making a song for a girl he liked)
-
This song could be taken in two entirely different directions for me. In one sense it's like what just about everyone first thinks of when they hear the song (a relationship gone bad). But if you think about it the right way it could be a love song.
I am stricken and can't let you go
He's lovestricken and doesn't want to let her go.
You don't know what your power has done to me
Her faith in him has lifted him up.
I wanna know if I'll heal inside
He wants to know if this will pass or if this love is true.
You'll never know how your face has haunted me
He thinks of her all the time.
I am crippled by all that you've done
He's fallen head-over-heels so hard he's practically permanently fallen aka crippled.
Into the abyss will I run
Will he get to run away to a happy ending with his love.
That should give you the gist of the lovey-dovey interpretation. I suppose the darker interpretation fits better but I'll leave that up to you to decide. -
I always thought this song was about a girl he loved who just left (suicide, or literal left) and left him torn up inside.
