Hollywood Undead: New Day Meaning
New Day Lyrics
Mama what you think he wasn't swimmin with sharks?
You think I'm evil keep them kids in the dark
I got a gallon of gasoline and a chest full of hearts
So you hide behind them paper and them...
-
*This is my interpretation I am not sure if this is how Hollywood Undead meant it. also as a disclaimer I did not write this I don't own this etc.*
So anybody froze in the alley of scars, mama, what you think he wasn't swimming with sharks?
*The alley of scars is the scars of the past being frozen in the alley of scars is like being stuck in you past pain and suffering and not being able to get out.
'Mama what you think he wasn't swimming with sharks' a kid was hanging out with the wrong crowed and got caught up in gang violence or drug and probably died.*
You think i’m evil now? Keep them kids in the dark, i’ve got a gallon of gasoline, and a chestful of hearts.
*the one talking is saying that they are much worse then who they are talking to thinks and not to tell the kids about how bad he really is the kids could be siblings children who ever*
So, you hide behind them paper and them records that made me, immunization on papers i’m 18.
*this is the person being angry about people judging him by his criminal record. records don't say why some one did what they did it doesn't say the whole story.
the person never got there name in the paper since they are 18 and that is just under the legal age to have your name released*
Selling some rights for this Johnny-come-lately, like fate in some bars, you think it fu*king will change me?
*A Johnny-come-lately is a late comer I think the person was selling them drugs. then saying that being locked up in jail will not change him at all*
From the bottom of bottles and its right back to the top it the space in between where I keep getting caught.
*the person is an alcoholic getting 'caught' mentally I believe like they are depressed.*
Yeah, i listen to these demons way more often than not, so i’ll just keep on singing ‘cause i don’t wanna talk.
*the person listen to the 'demons' in there head a lot, not making the best choices.
they sing as an outlet because it is easer to express raw emotions trough song.*
‘Cause i know, i know i’m not right. But i’ve got my whole life, and thats alright with me.
*they know that they are not living a good life, but they realize that there whole life is ahead of them and the can change but they may not try to.*
It’s a new day! A new day! You have loved your self and no one else.
*they are saying 'it is a new day all you have ever done was for your benefit and no one else's*
In a new day, a new day! it’s a broken life what’s left inside? X2
*they are saying that, to live like that, never loving anyone but your self and not helping anyone is a broken way to live and what happiness and soul do they have if that is how they live*
It’s a new day! How do we change,With a broken life? What’s left inside?
*they don't know how to change, now knowing that they are broken*
Today is my dream, but tomorrow i choses, to stay awake and unseen or sleep in oceans of blue.
*they will have to choses between staying awake and sober and blending in with others or 'sleeping in oceans of blue' which I think mean taking or overdosing on Roxys (Roxicodone - a highly addictive pain killer often called "Blues")
It's true the devil in me it's like speech you the freak,
They say my tongue turns black every time that i breath.
*people are saying this person is really horrible and when they breath in the air there tongue turns black another HU song "Believe" says "when I breath there's something good inside of me" I think this is a similar concept that the person is so bad that the air is the only good thing in them and in this case the good-ness of the air and the bad-ness of them turns there tongue black.*
Pretend i’m just a thief, I’m not allowed to preach, but, you can hear my words as they blled through the streets.
*everyone pretends that this person can't teach them a thing since they are 'a thief' so no one will listen to them but what they are trying to say is everywhere it is 'bleeding trough the streets'
to wonder achieve has never been a disease, you know, we can burn the earth with kerosine and a dream.
The lynch of the mob, and the power that be, they see me as a threat to the sheep, I’m looking for meat.
*everyone think that this person is very dangerous and looking to corrupt and hurt the innocent (the sheep)*
I can see the light, and feel the beat of the drums, I’m not finished yet I wanna cry when they come.
*but they can 'see the light' of heaven and feel hearts beating(the drums I think that it is a symbol for feel empathy.)
(Hook)
So where do we go when there's nowhere left to crawl? And what do we do when we thought we knew it all?
*they are not knowing where to go or what to do or believe (the answer to where to go where there is nowhere left to crawl is to stand up and walk meaning to rise above your struggles and hardship and be the best you can be.*
Now we’re surrounded by a world of lonley people.
*they are saying everyone is lonely and sad deep down*
Am i the last one here, or the last one left to fall?
*the person is asking if they are the last one or if every one else is really still there they have just fallen like given up in a sense*
(Hook)
*the hook at the end is saying to get up and help and love those who need it (which is everyone) I think that the song is rather motivational and stuff but that's just the way I see it sorry this is so long.*
