I think this song is about a guy who has obviously broken up with his girlfriend in order to move on with his life and "find himself" you could say. Although, when he's realized that she is over him and has moved on and he runs into her with her new boyfriend he realizes that he had the world when he was with her, and now regrets walking away from the relationship.

Ok well i really like this song and i often compare to the situation im currently in, but i believe its much different. I think that this song is about a man leaving off to war 'Ocala is calling and i know its huanting" And the rest of the song hes writing her letters and he loves this girl so much, but has no doubt that she already moved on. He's letting her know she's his everything, but he knows what she's doing. So he can live without her, but without her he's miserable at best, yes he's miserable because she's with another man, but its at best because he knows shes happy with him. Thats wuht i believer(:
