Alkaline Trio: Smoke Meaning
Smoke Lyrics
Over and out of it for one more plane ride out
Not sure, and never was if this will all head south, or what
Wait here a month or two will pass, I'm sure I won't
Faith dear, enough to get you by until we're home
I wish, I don't wish I...
-
.... I will always be yours.

my interpretation of this song is this...
he misses his wife, it makes him anxious and stressed out... smoking a cigarette relieves that as much as it can. so what he is saying is... i wish i had something to help me not feel so awful. hes afraid she will leave him eventually because of all the touring and not seeing him that often. he wants to reassure her that he is hers and always wants to be. the lines... take me home tuck me in moon go down to it again.... that means to me... i love you i want to be able to sleep next to you every night and wake up next to you... then have it happen until forever. -
So I think basically that it's about someone who gets into drugs, and he so desperately wants to quit because he's losing his loved ones because of the drugs. It might not even be drugs, it could be anything that makes him feel different about life. I don't know. That's what I think at least.

I think this song goes out to Dan's wife, who he misses dearly.
He knows that the life he lives bein on the road all the time but he asked her to have faith, because he will always come home to her.
