Billie Eilish: All The Good Girls Go To Hell Meaning
Song Released: 2019
All The Good Girls Go To Hell Lyrics
Standing there, killing time
Can't commit to anything but a crime
Peter's on vacation, an open invitation
Animals, evidence
Pearly gates look more like a picket fence
Once you get inside 'em
Got friends but can't...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:I think that it is referring to climate change. As it mentions, man is poisoning themselves, hills are burning, needs greenery, etc. She needs heavens help if the world is to be saved, as she is the devil, but there is nothing to save left. Also, she can’t do the snowflake

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:The song, according to Billie herself, is from the perspective of the Devil. (As she herself said:)
It means that eventually, 'no matter how good you are, desperate measures will eventually break you. Turn you into bad.' (so that there's no copyright: I literally took Billie's exact wording in the Spotify song description that's why I put quotations) -
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:Billie said herself that this song is about climate change and all the bad things that humanity has done to the earth. When she sings,'' Hills burn in California, Mh turn to ignore ya.'' She's saying about how our earth needs help, and we're just ignoring it.
I love Billie with all my heart, but this is a song that I disagree with. Don't @ me LOL -
There is NO way that this song is reffering to climate change...!!! I mean c'mon, watch the damned music video, it's like a continuation of bury a friend (we all know where that one was headed...), so she gets the shots... and she was supposed to sprout angel wings... but they've been weakened so she falls into a burning world, and even tho she she didn't exactly touch the flames, the oil she drags with her will bring the flames to her... and it ends up burning her wings till the become leathery like the ones bats have... which she somehow instantly knows how to use, and she returns to the fire..
You should know where i'm going with this... They sabotaged her chance to do something good with her life and send her out into a world of corruption... and even though she didn't ask for it, the corruption still affects her and she suddenly feels more comfortable that way, embracing her darkside...
Climate change? really??

This is from the perspective of the devil himself. Its him saying that God has enemies no matter what, and eventually you'll resort to desperate meaures, sinning, and finding your way to hell no matter how much of a "good girl" you were. The devil is basically saying that your going to hell no matter what so dont try to avoid it.
-
It’s supposed to be from Satin’s perspective according to Billie. Basically all the bad people won’t go to hell, but once the water starts to rise and heaven’s no longer there. All the good people are safe in hell? Idrk tbh. Love you Billie!

There are multiple meanings to this song. There is evidence that it could be describing climate change (Hills burn in California, water rising, etc.) However, this could also be describing Billies interpretation to the end of the world, or something related to that.
-
I think that the songs about how even "good girls" have devilish/rebellious sides even if it doesn't show, implying that they have 2 sides
-
Billie Eilish said herself that it was meant to describe global warming, and how we caused a problem but expect divine intervention to come save us from your own mess. She also describes "hills burn in California" "waters start to rise" which are both common signs of global warming.
-
its about climate change because it says "hills burn in california" and "standing there killing time can't commit to anything but a crime."
-
I think it's about......
Well, I would say that it basically means nobody's perfect. Everyone must have done or said something wrong at least once in their life. So basically it means be yourself and nobody's perfect.
I mean, i feel like my interpretation is like, way off but hey, I tried! -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

“ My Lucifer is lonely
Standing there, killing time
Can't commit to anything but a crime
Peter's on vacation, an open invitation
Animals, evidence
Pearly gates look more like a picket fence
Once you get inside 'em
Got friends but can't invite them”
I think the devil is lonely for people to burn, torture, or whatever the heck satan does to people in Hell. You have people that you care about and they don’t care about you.
“ All the good girls go to hell
'Cause even God herself has enemies
And once the water starts to rise
And heaven's out of sight
She'll want the devil on her team”
The girls that are so sweet, pretty, popular, etc.
should go to hell. When the good girls lose popularity and innocence they will turn to the “outcasts” and try to be friends.
-
I think, contrary to others, that this song is warning other girls not to stay "good", to have fun while you can. As an athiest, any religious aspects of this song were lost on me, but I liked it, and this is just my interpretation of it.
-
These Lyrics are clearly about humanities War against Nature that is led by females as men do everything they do just to qualify for access to females. So everything that is generally and pre-dominantly perceived as good on this planet is and will increasingly come back to haunt us to the extent that all the "good" girls will be forced to go "bad" sooner than later..!
