Disturbed: Prayer Meaning
Song Released: 2002
Prayer Lyrics
Just to compliment your sorrow
Another life that I've taken from you
A gift to add on to your pain and suffering
Another truth you can never believe
Has crippled you completely
All the cries you're...

erinW88 is full of shit!! God doesn't inflict vengeful acts of pain on anyone and He doesn't through things at you to mess up your life. If it wasn't for His love, you wouldn't have a life! As far as Disturbed goes, I don't care what Prayer is about- It's an awesome song! Check out some Slipknot song meanings!

He's jewish, but he doesn't practice. He's actually not religious at all, and it wasn't written about his grandfather, he may have inspired it, but it wasn't about him.
A conversation with the idea of the god that common judeo-christian theology would have you believe in. if god truly inflicts vengeful acts of pain and suffering upon its creations as a sort of temper tantrum in order to elicit a response, then bring it on. there is nothing that can be thrown at you that will deter you from your chosen path, or break your spirit. it speaks to the indomitable nature of the human spirit, that no matter what life, fate, or god throws at you, you have the strength and wherewithal to get through it. -
Well... He did say that it was a "Modern Day version of the Book of Job." But he also said it was influence by the death of his Grandfather and also from 9/11. *That comes strait from the special version of the video*
And I read somewhere that he has either become a Christian or has returned to his Jewish faith. -

The person above me is wrong. The song is acctually a song David wrote for his grandfather who passed away. "Living just isn't hard enough. Burn me alive, inside. Living my life's not hard enough, Take everything away" is refering to god taking his grandfatehr away. And these are words strait from davids mouth. "This is a convorsation between me and god"

This is a religous song no doubt about it. I thought it had more to do with the devil messin with him as well. It's like his faith towards his god is being tested, anyone ever read in the bible where the devil messed with that one guy and tried to make him break his faith towards god, the guy got that flesh eating disease I think and he never broke his faith that god was there. I think this song is similar to that part in the bible. It is also about close people of him turning away from him, he seems pretty sad and mad about it.

actually this is a song about christian faith. When your a chirtian God puts them trough trials to test their faith.
"Another dream that will never come true..." All this is what God is saying...
"Let me enlighten you, this is the way I pray... Living just isn't hard enough burn me alive inside..." This is supposed to be the person being tested.
"Return to me..." All this is also God speaking. After God speaks to your heart after so long he just stops.
So I can see how people thinks it about his grandfather, but even on the Disturbed Ones forum that they took down fro some reason it said it was christian faith and stuff -
