   I think this song means that even though you know your faults and you know your not perfect, you still have to take control of your life and take charge of what you want to accomplish in life. "It takes two sides to every story" is referring to how she knows her faults and isn't afraid to admit them. She learned how you can only save your self and you can't force other people to admit them either. "I can only save my self" long story short...don't be afraid to say your sorry and you can't change others to be better. Everyone learns and there are different perspectives on everything.
