Katy Perry: Part of Me Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Part of Me Lyrics
Pack my bags and watch your shadow fade
You chewed me up and spit me out
Like I was poison in your mouth
You took my light, you drained me down
That was then and this is now
Now look at...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song, Part of me, is describing anf explaining how no one and nothing can stop you from being who you are. There is a part in all of us that can never be destroyed, crushed or takne part from the people so say we aren't good enough.

Ok, nevermind about that! I really like this song and think it's about someone who has someone else in their life, whether it's a parent, boyfriend, girlfriend, friend, or just a random person who isn't very supportive of you and makes you feel kind of bad about yourself sometimes. But, this song's also about how you can be strong and tell them that you'll be who you want to be and that you will respect their opinion, but that when it comes to your life it's your decisions.
P.S: I do like this song, but I want Katy to get back to her more original stuff like "Thinking of You" and "Not Like the Movies". -
Katy Perry is saying to always be strong no matter what and there will always be one part of you that can never be taken away from you.

This breakup anthem was released as the first single from Katy Perry's Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection album. It was one of three new songs from the special edition collection, which also includes four re-workings of her "Dream" hits. The song was released worldwide on February 13, 2012.
-
It is about strong in women.

I think this song is basically Katy gaining her independence; she's not gonna be messed about with!
ALSO, I think Katy rewatched this video in 2017 and thought "F it. I'm gonna make myself look like what I did in this video!" -
I think that it's about ths girl who broke up with her boyfriend and the song sussgets that he cheated on her and when she found out she got mad and wanted to get as far away from him as possible. Which I think is understandable.
-
I personally think that katy perrys boyfriend was cheating on her then she found out and something in her soul got took away and she is SO upset and is making herself STRONG once more
-
Its about someone that was trying to hold Katy perry back from herself and she is saying that its apart of her no one can take away from her and some days are so bad that she just wants to escape.
-
I think this is about when Katy had a record deal and they wanted her to be everyone else, like Kelly Clarkson. They didn't understand her costumes, that's why she says, this is the part of me that you will never take away from me.
-
Part of me is like a song and she cover for it and she has candy outfits and it's adorable and it was so good
-
The song means that Russel can get everything but her heart! hence "You can keep the diamond ring!"
-
No she's talking about the devil ((Throw your sticks and stones throw your bombs and your blows but your not gonna break my soul)) she's saying the illuminati (government) with their weapons since they are powerful and she sold her soul so she's trying to fight for herself and trying to find god but she's too late and wide awake is just her talking about it more.
