   the song is about a woman that has lost her lover/soul mate. From seeing the video it's clear to see it is set in the 1940's and her lover has gone off to war and has been killed. The girl tries desperately to move on but her new lover is no where near as good as her first. Whenever she's with her new lover she constantly thinking of her dead soulmate wishing he was spending the night and that she could look into his eyes once more.

   This is a song about loving a boy who you shared so many memories with, and still loving him after he broke up with you. You found another boy, but he'll never be better than what you had before
   
   Verse one - (comparisons are easily done once you've had a taste of perfection) once youve had the best, you can easily compare other things to it
   
   (like an apple hanging from a tree I pick the ripest one, I still got the seed) she picked the best boy she could find, but he still wasn't perfect, and dumped her
   
   (you said move on, where do I go?) he told her to move on, but she's still in love with him
   
   (I guess second best is all I will know) she knows that she won't get back what she really wants, so she'll have to settle with second best for the rest of her life
   
   Chorus- (when I'm with him I am thinking of you) means that she's found another guy, in an attempt to move on, but she still can't get the first guy out of her head,
   
   (what you would do If you were the one who was spending the night) remembering the times they had together
   
   (I wish I was looking into your eyes) she wishes that he was right beside her still
   
   Verse Two- is saying that he was really amazing, made her feel the the same feeling as getting a "heart candy from a surprise sender". Also she is saying that he told her to move on, so she's trying, but failing,
   
   "he kissed my lips .... I was disgusted with myself" refers to the fact that she was ashamed that she could kiss another guy while still being in love with someone else
   
   Verse three - means that it was her who screwed up the relationship, and there's not a day where she regrets that

   I think the song is about finding the perfect guy but then he leaves her and tells her to move on, she finds another guy but since he was perfect for her she can't stop thinking about him. She watched him walk away from her and what they had so she regrets not running after him. Everytime she's with her new guy she compares him to the perfect one... all in all it's a very sad song.

   This song is about the tragedy of being with someone but loving someone else. When you can't get the other person off your mind as hard as you try and you try to deny the feelings. If only you could turn back time and have spent your life with them instead. You wonder if they feel the same way. Do they think of you like you think of them. Can you ever be together or do you remain in a relationship with out substance or real love?

   I think its about not realising how good you have things until suddenly you no longer have them. Its about having someone who you really connected with and how they were taken away from you with no warning. Now she is struggling to move on because she cant appreciate the values of the new guy because she just compares him to the old. In my opinion she feels as if she is betraying her lost love as she is "disgusted with herself."

    Kaaay, so, in the lyrics of the song, it doesn't at all mention the war/iraq/afganistan,people writing that are just getting that from the video clip, and alot (if not most) film clips have nothing/almost nothing to do with the actual song.

    typically its about katy perry who found the perfect match [matt dallas]- like an apple hanging from a tree i picked the ripest one
    
    and that she still remembers him - i still got the seed
    
    then he leaves to war leaving katy and tells her to forget him because it would hurt her to much if they were still together and now shes left alone with no one- You said move on Where do I go?
    
    he then dies in the war leaving katy forever
    
    then he meets someone new who is wonderful and almost like her former lover but not as great as her first love as she still in love with him- I guess second best is All I will know - Cause in your eyes, I'd like to stay

    Thinking of you is about when you find a "perfect" guy and before he goes to Iraq he tells you that you can see other people and referring to the lyric "you said theres tons of fish in the water so the waters I will test" but she can get over him and she is horrified with herself like the lyric "He pulled me in I was disgusted with my self" this is a meaning full song

    I think it's about finding your perfect match, but then he leaves you for some reason. In the video, she's in love with a boy, but he leaves to go to war, and ends up dying, so she's forced to move on, but still regrets letting him go to war because if she didn't, he'd still be alive. This song isn't neccesarily about that, though, it could also be about finding your perfect match, then something happens, forcing them apart, and she's forced to move on; but she can't forget about him.

    This is about a girl who once had a "perfect" guy but lost him because she flirted with another guy. she is now totally regretful of it and wants him to come back.. It can be seen in this lines..

    Is about having an affair with another guy while her true love is in Iraq. But he said she could see other people "You Said Move On where Do I go?" . but it still doesn't feel right. Because to her he is everything, and no one can replace him. While he is in Iraq He is shot in his heart and killed.
