Katy Perry: Teenage Dream Meaning

Teenage Dream Lyrics
Without any make-up on
You think I'm funny
When I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me
So I'll let my walls come down, down
Before you met me
I was a wreck
But things were kinda heavy
You brought me to...

#1 top rated interpretation:It may seem a simple pop song but analysis of the lyrics shows how deep it is.
This girl has fallen in love with 'her missing puzzle piece'. This love they share is so perfect and pure that it takes her back to her teenage years when she'd sit in her room and dream about meeting her prince charming.
This song hints at having sex with someone for the first time (Let's go all the way tonight). When put into the context of being a 'teenage dream' it may suggest that she feels as if she's losing her virginity again.
The one thing about this song that sticks out is the fact that it is adult and also innocent. The lines 'We can dance until we die/ you and I will be young forever' do have an obvious double entendre in them but they have the concept of never growing up in there. This has connotations of a peter pan type world where her and her lover are stuck as teenagers never growing up.
The song also has references to a typical Californian teen's life, it talks of getting drunk on the beach, an activity that is widespread amongst the Californian youth.
This song has so much to it. It has the ability to seduce and excite, it can be adult or innocent. This song embodies love and the teenage condition in a way that hasn't been done before.
Yeah. I'm a little obsessed. -

I think this song is from a nerd girl that has the dream to be with the popular and muscular jock guy that either she’s dreaming bout her life with him or it’s happening later on in her life
-
I think this song has something to do with an adult woman who is living the “dream” of a typical tesnage girl. She wants to feel “pretty without any makeup on” and funny. She wants to know that she can “let my walls come down”. This song mentions something about wanting to run away with this guy and not looking back.
For a teenager, this song is about first love.
For an adult, it’s morw about finding the love they missed as atewnager. -
I think the song is about how teenager want to live there teenage life. Teenagers just want to have fun thats all . to find a guy are a girl that they want to spenf there teenage life with teenagers is just all about fun and stuff.....

It's about a girl who finds the one. Everything just feels right and she loves him. They elope and travel to California where it's more perfect. Ot's so perfect it's like they're crazy teens in love. They finally make the choice and have sex.

It about a chick that wants vaginal intercourse
-
A girl who loves this guy who is hot and they make out in bed and stuff.
-
The song is basically about a girl who has found her one and true love and he makes her feel special and loved and he makes her feel young again. It's like she's living a "teenage dream", like the sort of dream that teenagers wish to have.
