Born This Way Lyrics
Just put your paws up
'Cause you were born this way, baby
My mama told me when I was young
We're all born superstars
She rolled my hair, put my lipstick on
In the glass of her...

I love how on this post you started talking about the song like you were supposed to, but then let everyone in on your personal life, if you were a true "Christian" then you would not tell the whole world why we should feel sorry for you or personal things for that matter... -

ok, so H-I-M obviously is referring to GOD (not the devil?!?) and him is referring to a human male. This line represents the difficult decision gay men have to make between loving other men and loving God, or Allah, or whomever you believe in.
Also, it could be saying it doesn't matter who you love, man or God, everyone should celebrate their individuality.
Recap:
HIM is not referring to the devil!!! -

The theme of the song is loving who you are. People say this song is just about the Gays, which is not. It's about loving who you are, no matter what. 'Cause you were born this way (Paws Up).
-
To me, the statement "it doesn't matter if you love him or capital Him" (not "all capital"-HIM)can be seen as: "him" being a male; as most of the song is about being okay with homosexuality or "Him" which, in most religions refers to "god"(Whichever god they believe in.

There are no labels in life nobody is gay straight or bi. everyone is special the way they are. <3

i think that lady gaga is just saying that it doesnt matter what you look like or what you believe in, everyone is perfect the way they are and no one can change that. god made you exactly how he wanted and if he had wanted you to look some other way or believe in other things he would have done that. god makes people different, if we werent different, life would be boring because we would all be the same.

I'm a pretty butterfly, but that doesn't matter because i was born this way.I'm an ugly moth, that doesn't matter i was born this way! sorry peoples! i agree with anonymous!

t doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
...I think she's say it doesn't matter if you love God or the devil. You know how in harry potter they say He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. well thats like saying the devil in this song. she just doesn't say it.
She said, "'cause he made you perfect, babe"
he=God
Don't be a drag - just be a queen
... shes saying it doesn't matter if your a "drag queen" just be your self or a queen
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M
.... she's saying do whatever you want and don't listen to other people. she's saying it's ok to believe in the devil or be gay.
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah = love needs faith -
This response is to the reference 'H.I.M.'.
Lady Gaga (her public persona name) is foremost a commercial driven (ie. read fame) and is reflecting the ever popular culture of mysticism in American society. For example, the 'Harry Potter' phenomena, 'Twilight' and
Edgar Allen Poe.
Her message of inclusion and the bravery to be yourself is commendable and over-riding theme in this song.
Good beat, fun song. IMO the video leaves alot to be desired and falls short of the potential within the lyrics and Lady Gaga's creative/dance ability. On a positive note, hurrah for contributing to 'Songs for Japan'.

Wow...some of you are interpreting this wayy wrong. the beginning, which says "it doesn't matter if you love him or capital Him" is probably talking about gays by saying it doesn't matter if you love some guy or God. i always thought that was obvious but maybe not...it's nothing satanic.
The rest of the song is about being comfortable with who you are and embracing what kind of person you were born as. -
