Lady Gaga: Judas Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Judas Lyrics
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Juda-a-a
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Gaga
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Juda-a-a
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Gaga
When he...

I think Judas is about embracing our sinful sides. We all adore a "Judas" and in truth are ALL "Holy fools". We would do anything for that Judas (like she says washing feet with her hair), we want to love him/her but we can't because in the "biblical sense" we will be looked down upon, but in a "future" (new, fresh, reborn) view, we are doing what we all really do. And FYI this has nothing to do with gay people soo the idiot who posted that Lady Gaga is trying to free gay people from religious prosecution, you are wayyyy wrong.!!

i think lady gaga has great music to listen to but dangerous in her meanings dont be fooled into thinking that her music is tame and not really anything to worry about if u believe she is christian u have been fooled just because u believe God and satan r real dosnt make u christian after all the devil knows God is real and if u think that her song "judas" has nothing to do with the bible just read the bible its all their , there r many other ways to sing about ur past relationshps without blasphemay and it is not the first time she has blasphemed against the bible in her songs yes i know she is going for shock value and it is working for her but what is she working ?for does she know herself well if she didnt know to start with i think she definatlly knows who she works for now the cost for all her fame and fortune but it is not forever just like this life is not , what is important? i just hope that lady gaga gets out before it is to late she probably thinks that she is in to deep and no turning bck but God is a forgiving god and loves all i just hope she gets out before it is to late and others that get influenced by her music

There are two different interpretations:
1- Gaga really loves Judas and hates Jesus
2- she just talks about her relationship with ex
for the 1st option I shall say that the most powerful proof is this
part of the song:
"I’ll bring him down, bring him down, down
A king with no crown, king with no crown"
which if we accept the king with no crown as Jesus, it is clear that she
talks about Christianity. but remember the first part when she says:
"I wanna love you
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue"
her virtue doesn’t let her love Judas.
another proof for this theory is this part:
"In the most Biblical sense, I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense"
does it mean that she really is a person against Christianity?
I think this part is about this specific song, this song is a sick idea coming out of
a prostitute mind in the bibles view, but it is just a new way of telling ideas.
moreover she says at last:
"Judas kiss me if offensed
Or wear an ear condom next time"
which means that Judas is the person that might be offended not Jesus.
or maybe she means that the people who are offended are Judas that it is better not
to listen to her songs.
The 2nd idea: If she is talking about her ex, these parts make sense:
"I wanna love you
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue
Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to"
she wants to love her betraying ex but her virtue is pulling her away
"I’m just a holy fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby
I’m just a holy fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby"
she is a fool because she still loves her betraying ex
"I couldn’t love a man so purely
Even darkness forgave his crooked way
I’ve learned love is like a brick, you can
Build a house or sink a dead body"
she loves a man whom she knows is a bad guy.
talking about love in this part makes no sense with the Christianity theorem.
"When he comes to me, I am ready
I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times, he betrays me"
she will forgive him again when he is back ( that’s why she is fool ), and she
will forgive all his lies and betrays. As one said before this part can't refer to
Judas because he was not the person who betrayed three times it was Simon/Peter.
the only problem with this idea as I said is this part:
"I’ll bring him down, bring him down, down
A king with no crown, king with no crown"
which if we take that she talks about her ex in this new way, doesn’t make sense.
who is she going to bring down? she keeps saying that she loves her betraying ex
and she even forgives him after betraying her three times, and just after that she
says " I will bring him down".
forgetting this part the song doesn’t have any other antichrist thing in it. I will be
happy to know if anyone has an idea about this part of the song.

I think that the one that say she is a devil workshiper are correct because the devil could take any form. How did she become so famouse in so little time!? I used to like her songs but know I see what she is trying to do. She is trying to make us workship the evil and is transmiting it through musis because it is populer and they know this is the way to get ppl into their "group" as someone said earlier! You fools that love her will see that she is evil ofcourse she would not tell you openly I workship the devil she can't she know she will loose fans so insted she lies and says she is religous!!!

Its a Pity that we seems to defend on someone who has voluntarily chooses to mock Jesus Christ ( who she refers to as A KING WITH NO CROWN ) the song lyrics is self explanatory, she's in love with Judas, been the man (Devil) that betrays JESUS....if not for Judas betrayals,Jesus Christ wouldn't have suffered and die as we all know....So, she's simply loving Judas for the job Weldone...And she also said that she's going to BRING DOWN THE KING WITH NO CROWN (Jesus)...Its obvious that Gaga is upto something that only God know what....Plsssssss...if u are a Christian reading this comments or even listening/dance to lady gaga's recent songs (music), you have to be very careful on the lyrics the dance to, otherwise, we just might be dancing to the mockery our Savior Jesus Christ...

Lady Gaga, MSN Canada:
'Judas' is a metaphor and an analogy about forgiveness and betrayal and things that haunt you in your life and how I believe that it's the darkness in your life that ultimately shines and illuminates the greater light that you have upon you. Someone once said to me, 'If you have no shadows then you're not standing in the light.' So the song is about washing the feet of both good and evil and understanding and forgiving the demons from your past in order to move into the greatness of your future. I just like really aggressive metaphors—harder, thicker, darker—and my fans do as well. So it is a very challenging and aggressive metaphor, but it is a metaphor.

I dont think people should take offence to this song, Lady GaGa did not portray it to offend people as she loves her fans. People who are trying to bring her down should be ashamed and should not get offended over a song. if they don't like it then they can complain to god, because none of us other people care

I still don't get it. It can be interpreted in 2 ways, religious or relationships. Yeah, women date bad boys (Judas) and give everything to them even though they know they are not dating a good guy. Christian girls know what is wrong and right, but most of them just ignore the doctrine and rather to do like everyone do no matter if it's wrong, compared this to relationships, they don't care if what they do with their bfs is wrong because they are in love with them even though they know Jesus. But in another way, I'm pretty afraid of this song, She's in love with Judas who was himself Satan as he betrayed Jesus. Look at the video and pay attention to the images, they are all sensual yeah sex sells. But at the end, why does she appear dead?

I believe that these lyrics could be about a relationship she was or still is in, or it could be about her struggles with her religion. I was born into then roman catholic religion, and honestly I find it hard to believe 95% of what is stated in the bible. It was written 500 years after Jesus' death! We all know how stories work, it's like playing a game of telephone, one person says something to another person who eventually tells someone else and then that person tells someone they know, and so on. By the time the stories of Jesus were actually written and made into what we call the bible, the stories were (like every other piece of gossip or story) completely changed depending on each tellers beliefs and interpretation of the version of the story they were told. I'm honestly getting sick of the catholic religion, yes I do believe in some of the things stated in the bible, but I do not believe that forcing religion down peoples throats is the bright thing to do. And who is any catholic to blame people who are not catholic for being "hypocrites"? If anything we're the hypocrites, thou shall not kill? But it's okay for us to burn thousands of people at the stake for not believing in the religion we preach? Priests and popes are meant to be pure and refrain from sexual intimacy, but it's okay for them to molest children? The catholic religion is the most hypocritical religion out there, so I don't blame anyone for struggling with their beliefs. Now this is only my personal thoughts, I'm not trying to force you to agree, because that would make me a hypocrite. But whether the song is about the religion or her relationship each makes a great argument that really doesn't have a right or wrong answer.
I have no intention of offending or mocking those who strongly believe in the catholic religion, so please don't take what I have said personally. This is just me simply vocalizing my struggles with my beliefs in this religion. -
Wow. Amazing how many people defend Lady Gaga. Sha herself admitted she is part of the illuminati but nooo she wants to make reference to metaphors and illusion to portray her actual innocent virtue to some of you.
But thats the whole plan, people will believe her, defend her and follow her. And reading many posts it is working.
How can we justify the fact that God's word is being so brutally minupalised. Not only that, people who call themselves Christians love the song, thinking oh I'm just using my God has a metaphor 4 freaken boyfriend relationships. Are you kidding me?
Wow the new world order is no joke. And I don't judge Gaga 4 what she believes because its what she believes but I definitely also don't defend her and go along wth the song is a "metaphor."
And people who say If your Christian you shouldn't even listen. . .not like we can control the music on tv and radio but I do switch over when her music plays. -
I really can't interperet the lyrics, but the imagery in the video cleared up any questions I had. GaGa is supposedly Mary Magdeline, and the bikers are the aposales. Judas is the party boy, and Jesus is the peace keeper with the sparkly crown. Throughout the vid, she looks at Judas longingly, but protects Jesus in the crowd. She bathes them both, but then judas gets "shot" with a lipstick gun. She loves them both, but Jesus is like the little boy needing protection, and Judas is the bad boy... Idk. That's what I got from it.
-
I believe this song is a metaphor for how she is/was religious (catholic I believe), she loves God/jesus but repeatedly is drawn to bad/evil...represented by Judas, the king with no crown...her inner struggles with good and bad.

Wow you guys. Come on, it's not supposed to be about how Gaga is a "devil worshipper." It's about loving a man who is a complete and total douchebag. For example, my friend is in love with a guy who cheats on her and isn't nice to her at all...
"I'm just a Holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby"
Like I said, about loving a man who treats you wrong. Everyone just calm down about all this religion stuff and enjoy the song. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to listen to it. Personally it has a good meaning to it and makes sense to me, and I don't take it as "worshipping the devil."
SO COOL IT.

it's interesting how most of gaga's songs are questionable to whether or not they have a double meaning. yet people are still naive to believe everything they are told by gaga. how can people be so blind?! even Christians! her lyrics are intentionally blasphemous! i don't listen to her music for entertainment, but i do read her lyrics for research. She is a lost soul who needs Jesus. She, just like everyone of us, will answer to God one day. I only pray she gets saved before then.

i do belive this song is about her past relationships.... As a christian do i think it right of her to use this story as an anology, NO. but taking this song as it is i understand what she is saying. This song does turn me off as her fan, but i will not bad mouth her. You other christains commenting should not be judging and badmouthing her either. It is very hypocritical of you. Who are you to say she is a devil worshiper?????? You have no proof. I am very ashamed of all of you so quick to judge we all have our faults. all sins committed by man is equal in Gods eyes. So examine yourself before being so high and mighty. Maybe if christians were not so judgemental on things, people would understand the things we try to teach. Calling people devil worshipers because of a unknown meaning of a song and support of gay rights is rash. I am young but i hope someone out there understands and agrees with what im saying. I just hope the rest of the world could learn to love poeple the way chrstians were supposed to even with views different from each other. God Loves You All.
