I really don't know where to start. Its sad people are defending something that they clearly don't know anything about. You denounce any other opinion as if Lady Gaga is the truth or no wrong can come from her lips. One person says that she said that this song is about a lover who has betrayed her. Please stop being idiots because nowhere in the lyrics does it give you that Idea of a lover. People try to decipher her lyrics but fail to realize she is blatant they don't need to be deciphered. In this song she is literally praising Judas and wants to help him. "ill bring him down a king with no crown" Its a reference to the crown of thorns. Judas was hung for his betrayal of Jesus and his bowels left his body. She wants to help him down from the rope.
People on here are so devoted to Lady Gaga its scary because y'all are using fowl language that substitutes for rage defending her and y'all don't even know her. I plan on not listening to music because it is tainted even christian music movies are also linked to this Satanic brain washing. People sing songs and don't know what they mean. The song Arab Money the chorus is in a foreign language not Arabic and its a ritual that is said when you convert to Islam!!! Millions are singing this song dancing in praise not knowing what they are doing...Wise up People its time to wake up -
It's amazing how blinded some of you are . Gaga used to be an idol of mine , now I can't stand her voice because of her sickening song . She is talking about her relationship with the devil and how she renounces god over and over again . When the anti - Christ appears in time she will be the one promoting him . Gaga is part of the luminati . Shame on her ! I am disgusted by her work and you damn fools should be too ! Stupid heads . When the end times come you will look back on this comment and realize I have just given you pearls here . I am not critisizing so keep your negative comments to yourself . Thanks

So here's my two cents. I believe Gaga represents the Church, the body of Christ, or the Bride of Christ, the one whom He will come back for. And she paints a picture of how the church struggles to have a relationship with Jesus, but still continue to sin and commit worldly acts in His sight (loving Judas). At the end, she shows the bride (body of Christ) falling to sin and cannot get up on her own. She needs Jesus' help to get up. And the tear rolling down her face...wow! It's Silent screams...

I think it's "Baby it's so cruel" like fate or whatever is cruel to her. Perhaps she is cruel to herself for being with Judas.
-
knowing him in the "biblical sense" means that she's had sex with him and therefore cannot repent as well as being a hooker for fame etc.
-
It's very obvious, this crazy woman is speaking about jesus, and how satan in the future will control the earth, and our MIGHTY GOD JESUS,will b brought down......she is a satanic woman, just as Madonna was b4 her,the "image de marque"to the anti -CHRIST..We can listen to her but WE CANT AND WE WOULD NOT B CONTROLLED BY HER,OR B UNDER HER EVIL SPELL to drag us away from religion and GOD...

My personal opinion.. It's about her past relationships. She uses those two names just as a metaphor. Everyone knows who Jesus and judas is. She rather is or was in love with someone who always treated her right, Jesus, but she still wanted someone else she knew never did or would treat her right, judas. When she says I'm just a holy fool its to go along with her song. She probably means shes a fool for love but she keeps going back to the same type of guy. When she wants someone like Jesus she still settles for someone like judas.

I had to stop reading the "interpretations" as they became more and more horrible. FACT: Lady Gaga is NOT anti-Christian. She believes in God. FACT: This song is a metaphor for past relationships, and that we can't help falling the wrong person. FACT: She is using the relationship between Judas and Jesus as an example for her own inner conflicts.
So stop saying she's trying to destroy religion, that we're all sheep, and that Gaga worships Satan. Maybe you're just trying to find something wrong with others to cover your own flaws. You can think whatever you want about her/us, I can't change your mind, but at least keep it to yourself. -
I think Gaga is trying to tell people about how she was betrayed in past relationships in a way that gets our attention. Just because she doesnt need attention, doesnt mean she doesnt want more. And the king with no crown bit? I think that boyfriend was very controlling over her and shes determined to leave him in her dust, so to say. =)

For those comparing Lady Gaga to the "antichrist" they should take another look through the bible. The bible clearly states that no one will dislike the antichrist, mean no one would be referring to Lady Gaga as the antichrist correct? People make me sick these days, they claim to be such loyal & devoted Christians, yet don't know the word themselves. & it also makes me sick how people constantly try to accuse people they don't like to the antichrist. smh. Please find another excuse for your hatred toward someone and stop turning to the bible. Thanks...

Wow, I read a few comments and I'm shocked at the interpretations. However I agree that the song can be interpreted in many ways.
"Oh, I'm in love with Judas"
My friend and I actually had a debate about this. She believes that it cannot be directly taken as it is said and nobody should judge Lady Gaga for what she believes.
I absolutely agree with her, what I don't agree with is the title of her song. How many artists have potrayed an issue such as "not dating the right people" in songs? Alot right? Is it necessary to take the word of God, something so powerful. . .and make a ridiculous comparison like that?
But that would be judging Lady Gaga right? I'm not much of a fan, I really don't care much about her music because the of the message she wants to get out there.
We can all go on about "It's a metaphor, and don't take it literal" because this is definitely her first song making religious reference to go against it right? Wrong! She continuously does it in her music. Thats what she believes. Why are we putting up a defensive front for what she says? It's basically up to the listener to listen to a "metaphor" of an awesome vibe and not think anything about it, or to read between the lines.
God warns us about the messages out there leading us away from him, about false prophets that will pretend to represent Him. Thinking gay and different people are isolated from the word of God, and that people won't have to feel so guilty if religion didn't exist. . . wow, you have absolutely no Idea what the concepts religion and the gospel of God entails. But many people don't. Christians aren't perfect. Even amongst Christians there are various interpretations about what is right and what is wrong according to THEM, not God. Faith is not doing right, praying, going to church, forgiveness, kindness, caring and all that. It's simply a personal relationship with God.
"It's a slow fade when black and white turn into grey." We love God, BUT the song Judas means nothing to us? I don't know but with that I see greyness. Maybe you don't. -
A) If she were a Christian, it would be morally comprimising to say that she worships "Judas" wether it be song or not. That is a golden rule of Christianity, there are "no other Gods before me" as the Lord says himself. Also, to who ever said that she "sold her soul" up there in other comments, her soul isnt hers to sell as it says in Ezekiel 18:4 "For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belonging to me." Therefore there is no such thing as selling a soul. Her song is blasphemous whether she is talking about "religion" or a lover. It should be considered sin to compare menial relationships to Judas and Jesus. Also, do not forget, Judas went back to the Pharisees and told them he was wrong. However, Jesus already knew Judas' plan, hence the Last Supper when Jesus said that one was going to betray him.
She also should not say she is beyond repentence because that is no so. Everyone is given free will to repent their sins and she doesnt have to be a "fame hooker" This song is not about Christianity ending because that would be impossible as it is the Holy Bible is the number one most sold book. I do think however, she is very wrong to make a metaphor out of these particular events and frankly, no one should care about her love life. She obviously has spiritul confliction and should look to God for that healing. -
yall people are so ignorant . Shes mentioning Judas & Jesus for a reason & it ain't no metaphor . Yall are just giving excuse after excuse . shes disrespecting Jesus wether yall realize it or not.

For those who say Lady Gaga is a Christian and believes in God and blablabla .. excuse me? Have you seen the video Alejandro? You're telling me she mocks God that way because she's a Christian? For example wearing the cross upside down and all the other stupid things she does. You can deny it all you want, but Gaga is a satanist who sold her soul a long time ago and who is setting a bad example. Not to mention ALLLL the illuminati signs you can see in her videos.. there's so many now you can barely count them. Know the meaning of the lyrics before making someone your idol ou making them rich for saying stupidities.

If it's really about forgiveness, then why cant she use another reference instead of claiming to not go towards jesus and stay with judas? you people just believe anything that comes out her mouth. READ THE LYRICS. there is NOTHING about forgiveness. YOU PEOPLE WHO DONT READ LYRICS AND DONT INTERPRET THEM MAKE ME SICK
