Who gives us the right to twist the music from such as it is? Did it ever occur to any of you that it's just a song? Words and rythm from the heart, mind and soul combined?

The beauty of a good song is that each person can connect with it, and create their own meaning.
You cant do that if you're only taking the literal sense of every sentence. That way you're just listening to it, but you're not appreciating or even understanding the underlying message.
Personally, I don't think any single part of this song is actualy about Christianity itself ~ That's just the form she used to portray it.
Even if she is being as blasphemous as some people think, then I don't agree with her but I respect her for it.
Sometimes people forget that music is still a form of art, a form of self-expression. If you take away our voices then you take away our freedom.

I think its pretty bold to make a song as such and a video to go with it, i think there's more than just a relationship relation. It's pretty freaky

She saw Jesus dancing with Madonna in the "Like a Prayer Video", and got jelous of Madonna. So she wrote this song saying that she is in love with Judas to make Jesus jelous in hopes that it will cause him to break-up with Madonna so that she can have Jesus to herself. Lady Gaga is trying to hog all the Jesus.

I saw a preview for the HBO special. In it, Lady Gaga is backstage, getting ready for her performance and she starts crying because she feels worthless, and she prays to God to give her strength. Anyone who says Gaga is not religious is blind and deaf.
As for the song, for me, it's clearly a metaphor about past lovers who have betrayed her. She knows they're bad and that she shouldn't love them, but she keeps clinging to the feelings she has for them and ends up getting hurt again and again.
She puts metaphors like that in her songs because she knows her little monsters like that. It gives them something to think about and interpret for themselves. As opposed to just offering up catchy tunes with lyrics that have no meaning.
In my opinion the "king with no crown" in the lyrics is a past lover, Judas, who acts abusive and controling and treats her like crap, but he has "no crown" no right to treat her that way. -
Lady Gaga knows the Bible (clearly, if she knows enough to make this song). She knows the Lord but she cant help cling to her sins because she likes them. She knows its wrong but she just cant help it. She is complete comfortable being the sinner that she is and she isn't willing to change for anyone

My interpretation of this song, regardless of what Gaga supposedly says it's about, is that she's putting herself in Mary Magdalene's shoes, so to speak, and she knows that what she's doing is wrong, and if you all remember correctly she started out as a prostitute, and she ended up being one of Jesus most loyal disciples. Mary Magdalene chose the correct way in the end AKA choosing Jesus over Judas. I'm sure that someone will disagree with me on this, but I really could care less. Gaga is not the damned anti-Christ. The anti-Christ is not a woman. If you believe she is, I think you ought to go back to church, because just like everyone who believes the current president of the US to be the anti-Christ, you my friend, are very incorrect.
Aside from that, it's just not proper to go around accusing people of being the anti-Christ. I mean come on the rapture hasn't even come yet, there's no way to know who the anti-Christ will be until after the rapture has come and gone.
Get over it.
This song yes has religious overtones, it's about Mary Magdalene being forced to choose between Jesus and Judas. For those of you who don't get that reference, talk to your pastor or priest. She loves Jesus, but she loves Judas as well, but she knows the only way to be saved is to choose Jesus, though somehow she still clings to Judas.
I went to Catholic school all my life, and this is pretty much word for word from religion class, so get over yourselves, Gaga is no where near being the Anti-Christ. -
@ "She refers to raising your "paws" to HIM in "born this way". That's referring to His Infernal Majesty aka Satan"
She is not referring to the devil in BTW, she say's Capital 'H'-i-m...If you read the bible you know everytime they refer to Jesus, they Capitalize the 'H' in Him, His, He, etc...so she is saying it doesn't matter if you love him (your gay lover) or Him (Christ)...sheesh, some people are so sensitive -
In my opinion she is leading people down the wrong path. The devil, who she is no doubt serving is using her and her fame to get between you and God. The devil told god that he will get His people thinking they are worshiping him but yet they sill be worshiping the devil. Take what u want out of the song... But know that no God fearing person will use those words as they know the meaning behind it

Please read the Bible before making comments about it. Mary Magdalene was not named in the Bible as the prostitute that the religious leaders were going to stone before Jesus invited the one without sin to cast the first stone; in fact, the Bible does not say that she had been a prostitute at all. Later tradition added that defamatory idea about her--another of the dangers of any speculation to the meaning of the Bible. Also, Mary Magdalene was not named in the Bible as the one who washed the feet of Jesus with her hair. Mary was a common Jewish name, as it is now for Jews and Christians. There were a number of Mary's named in the New Testament, among them were Mary, the Mother of Jesus; Mary Magdalene, a prominent disciple of Christ; and Mary of Bethany.

furthermore, judas has a CROWN OF THORNS ON HIS HEAD IN THE VIDEO! what does that tell u. cause that surely aint jesus. since u all are saying this has nothing to do with God and the bible, it certainly couldnt be jesus in the video, so its judas! hes not jesus! hes not a god or worthy of having a crown of thorns on his head

WOWW!! thats terrible. okay for people sayin this isnt demonic, its right in front of your face. it does have a biblical meaning. maybe the people saying that dont know what the bible says, but in Matthew 26:14-16 it explains that judas betrayed jesus 3 times. i was in a play that described everything that happened with judas' betrayal. Um username: Smashing, you are totally wrong. just because Gaga said herself this song was about relationships with boyfriends means nothing. its all for the media! just because she believes in God means nothing. she didnt say Jesus Christ. God doesnt have to mean a God in heaven. she says she is beyond repentance and that "I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs" She's basically calling him another God. its crazy to say that you are BEYOND repentance. that means she has no faith in even repenting at all. or even getting forgiveness for loving this so called Demon. she loves to be loving this demon. shes flaunting it
-
She needs to think of how other people feel about this as they feel that she is making fun of our Lord Jesus
