You ppl are all CRAZY ok!!! Ladygaga is not evil!! In fact she is original, spontanious, and imaginative!! I am very very religious and i asure u she isnt!! Her song Judas is based on her being the vigin mary! Judas betrays her!! But she is still in love with judas because thats her son!! All of her other songs arnt evil either!!! Because if you play them backwards its nonsence and ppl who study hell language or something take that nonsense and make it sound evil!! Lady gaga is a great artist!!!! And even if she was "evil"!!!
Just let her be!! YOU CRAZY PPL!!! its not going to affect you in ways!! They are HER songs HER meanings and HER choices!! Ok!!! I think she is very strong for not taking this crap!!! And if you keep on critizing pp before yoy even meet them its a sin!!! So please JUST LIVE YOUR FUCKING LIFE
OR GET SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT!!! ignorance is never good!!! And if u think im evil well then FUCK YOU!!!!

You can listen to the song, and you're not going to go hell for listening to the song. Songs have many interpretations, and she specifically said it was about her relationships. Saying the song is about more than what she said and not to listen to Lady Gaga is being highly judgmental because none of us wrote the song, which means that we don't know the true meaning. The song is only bad when you interpret it the wrong way.

I interpret the song as Lady Gaga struggling in her own life trying to do good, yet she turns to sin. I'm struggling myself right now, so I know what she means.

Otherwise, I really think that the song is supposed to be an extended metaphor for a relationship if she says the song is about her relationship.

No, Lady Gaga *IS NOT* satanic! What about "Jesus is my virtue", it doesn't mean that she tried it before, otherwise it would be "was" not "is". What about in "Born this way"? ("Capital HIM", "I'm beautiful in my way because God makes no mistakes," ect. ect.)
It cannot mean that she is worshiping the devil, never will.

This is a possible interpretation. Like most artists of any genre, Gaga has allowed for multiple interpretations. This interpretation comes from Gaga's on words and my feelings based on them. Religious conspiracy nonsense aside.

What Gaga is talking about is a former lover. But she's also talking about past mistakes. Self-betrayal. Learning to become the best person you can be, love, virtue, humility, wisdom (Jesus) but being thwarted in that endeavor by the past, love, mistakes, betrayal (Judas)

"When he comes to me I am ready
I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times he betrays me"

If Judas is a metaphor for past mistakes. Self-betrayal. Poor decisions. Then respecting them is important. We learn from these past mistakes. We shouldn't ignore them or avoid them. We should invite them in and have coffee with them. Wash their feet with our hair! These mistakes are sacred! They're how we become who we are. They're how we grow.

    "I'll bring him down
    Bring him down, down
    A king with no crown
    King with no crown"

But that doesn't mean that you have to like them. You have to be more powerful than them. Respecting them allows you to learn how to overcome them. Bring them down.

    "I'm just a holy fool
    Oh baby, he's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby"

We make mistakes and sometimes we love them. Addiction and former lovers come to mind here. You were in love them. That's their power over you, but at a price. You fell in love with that person and that wasn't easy. Even though they've hurt and betrayed you, there is still a part of you that loves them and always will. Sometimes this kind of love leads people to make bad decisions. Love has a lot of power that way...(know it and respect it, and you'll have power over it)

    "I couldn’t love a man so purely
Even prophets forgave his crooked way
I’ve learned love is like a brick
You can build a house or sink a dead body"

Understand that love can be a double edged sword. You can use it to build a home with someone, or use it to destroy someone with emotional or physical abuse. It has the power to keep the wrong people in each other's orbits...

"In the most Biblical sense I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense
Judas kiss me if offenced or wear ear condom next time"

My favorite part of the song. Here she breaks from the metaphor, and speaks directly to her critics and fans. She does take a shot at religious bigots here and what they say about her. She then goes on to state that she's above all that, and that if they don't like her music, then they shouldn't listen to it.

    "I wanna love you
But something's pulling me away from you
    Jesus is my virtue
And Judas is the demon I cling to
    I cling to"

This talks about the realistic struggle with past demons. How they interfere with relationships. Jesus represents that which we strive to become, and Judas represents what keeps us from that. It talks about how, sometimes this is a complicated struggle.

well whatever she is referring to is not the matter but what is is what she is actually saying its not right to speak of jesus out of context. Its a very touch subject and no one should touch it.

Lady Gaga is not a christian. She may say she is to get people to think that her music is okay but people who get naked in their videos, swallow crosses, wear inverted crosses and then act like nuns in an orgy...are not real christians. She may follow a god, but its not the Bible God.

i kind of think that it has to do with her internal struggle with her shadow material and her higher self(prodigal son and the other good son)in the bible..and, coming from Born this Way, both parts are part of her (and all of us) and should be accepted and loved...even the stuff we might not like

Well...(in a christian perspective Lady Gaga was catholic)When she says she is in love with Judas she is referring to sin...She is in love with SIN..and What Judas did when he kissed Jesus was a pretty big betrayal...She is being honest with how most of the world is...Sin holds everyone back from moral in a christian persepective..One of her lyrics said..."
    "I wanna love you,
But something's pulling me away from you
    Jesus is my virtue,
Judas is the demon I cling to
    I cling to"
this pretty much explains the whole song
she wants to live with some kind of morals and she will but she still is going to be herself and do what she wants..no one will change her...Judas did what he wanted to do...and she clings to that idea...she clings to some kinda sins that christians believe is wrong and she can't help it

she really wasn't dissing on any one..I am a pretty big christian and still a Lady Ga Ga fan. She is just explaining her opinion.

I do understand how this refers to her history with bad boyfriends, but I don't agree with brining in a religious concept in this song.
And in the videoclip how she shows Jesus and his disciples as a Hell's Angels-like gang, it just doesn't seem well thought about and she could have figured that she would offend people by doing this.
I'm not very religious but I do believe in God and even though I don't think Jesus was this guy with amazing powers many people DO agree with the picture of Jesus as a holy healer and she shouldn't compare someone like this with a biking gangster-like man.
Overall the lyrics aren't that offensive but still she should've stuck with the basics of "falling for bad boys" like the Alexandra Burke's song.

Everyone who hates GAGA needs to calm down. Not everything is about gays and bringing the church down. Even GAGA herself knows she can't bring down Christianity or religion altogether. That's crazy!!! I really do think this song is about her liking someone that she shouldn't like. omg ppl!! if you don't like the song, don't listen to it! ughhh

it is a song of forgiveness and humility... we are who we are and we all betray everyone including God Jesus.

We cannot be pure until we forgive the worst of the worst and do it with all we've got.

This is what I hear and I appreciate her
    encouragement.

Look, I'm tired of this, frankly.
    Sinful, Satanic, anti-Christ=Lady GaGa?
For God's sakes, she MENTIONS God in half of her songs.
Judas is A METAPHOR for, in my opinion, both her past relationships and humanity ingeneral.
We all sin, whether you admit or not, and all of us are tempted by Judas as bad.
Its good vs. bad (Jesus vs Judas!)
I bet if she talked about Osama Bin Laden vs Mother Teresa you guys would cheer.
    BUT ITS THE SAME MESSAGE!!
GaGa is insprational, and a TRUE artist.
    She worked her way up.
At the Rihanna haters, why does she bother YOU? Freedom of expression, please!
Yes, Jesus IS my virtue, and Judas IS the demon i cling to!!!

    Guys, calm down.

Lady Gaga is just an artist, a singer and a songwriter. She does this for money. This is just business. Everyone can write songs with confusing meaning so that people who have nothing important to do would spend hours trying to come up with the idea why she wrote that and what is its meaning. Instead of arguing and calling her Satanist or Christian, mind your own business and try to think of her as only an artist with a perfect voice and wonderful shows rather than someone who worships Satan and wants to brainwash people. Save your time, cause life is short. Think about it.

    God doesn’t condone being gay…Romans 1:26-27…just saying….1 Corinthians 6:9-10…Leviticus 18:22

Yes he loves all people but he doesn't love sin and where sin resides his spirit can't. Just something to think about if you're claiming both Christianity and homosexuality.
