Hey April 16th 11:16
please if you are going to go on talking about the bible stories, strive to get them correct- Mary Magdaline washed the feet of Jesus with her hair, and Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver
as for what the song means, I agree with most that this is a metaphor for a very bad relationship, I mean ultimately Judas causes the death of Jesus, and of course Jesus was aware that this was what Judas would do but did nothing to change things, basically not because he couldnt but because it was how things were supposed to go
do I think its a good metaphor? not really- everyone is so caught up in the "whats it mean" question that the message is lost or distracted from
as for the metephor itself I personally dont like it because it trivializes something that is the holiest of mysteries- the key to salvation, marking Easter as the most Holy of Holy days- but that is why I say personally, because I am a Catholic, this is my faith- others with out the christian faith, wont be personally offened -
Agreed. If she were a true Christian, she would not sing a song that destroys religion just so she can get fame.

This song isn't Satanic, it just consists of an extremely poor chosen metaphor. What amazes me is how all of you self-proclaimed Christians committ the one vice your Bible explicitly tells you not to: Judgement. (Exact scripture: "Judge not lest you be judged".) God manifests Himself differently in different men; what He is to one may not be what He is to another. Scrutinizing that Lady Gaga wants to end religion and hates God only futher proves the ignorance and intolerant views of you Holy hipocrites. The purpose of religion is to teach faith in a creator; to have faith in a creator is to have faith in one's self, eliminating the need for bigotry and elite attitudes of 'who's religion is right or wrong'. To focus on what someone else believes or practices is taking away from your own spiritual development, placing you in the same predicament as those about which you speak. Also, it means that you need to get the newest installment of religious development: a life.

Look even if she does worship the devil it doesn't mean that just because you are listening to her songs that you will worship him too because if you like her songs then keep listening to them. Your not gonna go and stop listening to your favorite type of music just because you think that she's saying some thing that she's probably not

You guys that are using religion need serious help. I go to church two times a week, work pdo, and act as a mentor for girla in the youth and do not feel this song is offensive Judas can be a metaphor for different things for different people she just happens to use it foe past relationships. Weed use yo be my Judas. Get over it. If you don't like it then like lady GaGa said wear a ear condom

I think people are being too extreme. They either think you should just not even listen to Lady Gaga or embrace her completely. I don't think you can look at a Lady Gaga song or video and not think something's different. Some people call it art, some people call it evil. Lady Gaga is just expressing her thoughts into a song. The fact that she uses a Biblical view in her song can be distrubing because her lyrics (in other songs) seem to be the opposite of Christianity. However, Christians are called to love everyone. Maybe in this song Gaga is expressing the fact that she doesn’t feel connected with God and she loves Judas but she doesn’t like. Or maybe she does like it. It's confusing.

has any one ever noticed how lady gaga is more famous for her controversial self than her music. qualifying her as a Satan worshiper has probably gotten her more fame than ever before. i think shes figured that out...i mean now it just seems like such a drama honestly! her 'need' to be different, her retarded get ups! her senseless videos...and now we have the oh so OBVIOUS controversial lyrics! it's not about her past - couldn't she find any better way to metaphorically translate her past relationship than choosing something as sensitive as religious figures...it's definitely not about religion ...cant say much about satanism here either....it's all about pulling the right strings for the right amount of HYPE COVERAGE CONTROVERSIES which eventually leads to what some people call ATTENTION and others FAME...yes i like to call it an attention seeking stunt! go gaga

Just A Few Things To Consider:
1. JUST BECAUSE YOU SAY YOU BELIEVE IN GOD IT DOESNT MAKE YOU A CHRISTIAN, THE DEVIL BELIEVES IN GOD MORE THAN ANY OF YOU, HES SEEN GOD FACE TO FACE. SO I DONT BELIEVE SHE IS A CHRISTIAN.
2. REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU CHOSE TO INTERPRET THE SONG IT IS INNAPPROPRIATE, IN REGARDS TO FAITH IT IS BLASPHEMOUS.. IN TERMS OF SECULIRISM IT IS POLITICALLY INCORRECT, IMAGINE IF THE TERMINOLIGY OF MUHAMMED WAS USED. THE UPROAR WOULD BE INSANE
3. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY SHE COULD BE A CHRISTIAN THAT HOLDS GOD IN REVERENCE AND USE AN ILLUSTRATION LIKE THAT FOR HER SONG
4. THE SONG IS RUBBISH ANYWAY.
5. PLEASE DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT IT IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, DONT LISTEN TO THIS RUBBISH.
6. EVERY SINGLE PERSON IS A SINNER, AND THEREFORE CANNOT MAKE HEAVEN THEIR HOME, BUT GOD LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US SO MUCH HE GAVE HIS SON JESUS TO DIE ON THE CROSS AND PAY THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS. ACCEPT THE PRICE THAT WAS PAID AND RECIEVE THE FREE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS AND A REASSURANCE HEAVEN WILL BE YOUR HOME.
1.REPENT OF YOUR SINS
2. ACKNOWLEGE JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS FOR **YOU**
3.RECIEVE FORGIVENESS FROM GOD.

How can you claim to be very very religious, and yet cuss like that. People like you are the reason that religion is looked down upon because of double standards like that. -
As a christian, this song had me very torn. It's hard for me to watch something that is so crude, metaphor or not. I still found this disgraceful to my own personal beliefs. As far as Lady Gaga being a christian or not, I can not say. I would feel extremely ashamed if I made a video like that as a metaphor for a relationship, and then claim to be a christian. I am not her judge, so I won't stand on any throne and condemn her way of expression, but I can not personally applaud her either. Not all Christians are bad. I believe what I believe and I don't force my opinion on no one. I only live by Christ's example. And He showed me in His Word to forgive, love, show mercy and compassion, and don't judge. A true Christian remembers that. And as far as all the controversy goes about Christians are anti-gay is stereotyping us as a whole. I have gay friends, and I care about them, just like I know Christ does. I don't have a problem with how you choose to live your life, but when challenged I will defend my own beliefs.

I think the lyrics to a song is just a form of expression. Like a poem or a painting or a dance...it's just art for the open minded people. For people who will want to slander about and obscure the song and lyrics it's wrong and perhaps Gaga should be burnt, like in the old times when the church used to condemn innocent people. I say, we live in modern days; we should be open minded about life. It's just another pop song with a great beat. To me Lady Gaga sings about her falling in love with the wrong guy and that's it. Stop hating! You're just jealous! And the world ends today or tomorrow or in a million years, hey relax! Save yourself if you can and if you don't like the song...wear ear condoms!

I dont think its about her choice of men at all. I think she is talking about society as a whole and how we choose sin these days even though we know that what we often do is bad. She talks about our conscious love for all the things wrong and unholy... which is exactly what the Bible says about our world these days.
Surely... if lady Gaga wanted to talk about men, she would just do it directly, just as she does in all her other songs, she would not need to use the Bible as an example. -

She's saying she wants the Lord to a point, but she is still in love with betraying the Lord--sin. Judas is not a representer of the actual person Judas but of her personal betrayal to God. I think she is stating that she is in love with her sin more than her virtue to the Lord. She doesn't sound lost in this song, but she does make it clear that she has a knowledge of her constant betrayal. Also, her betrayal goes beyond her own stance--it clasps ours as well. She's pointing out all of the other "holy fools" that are fools in love with sin and not so much the Lord even when we claim the Lord Jesus as our virtue. Just food for thought, I don't claim to be right...
