I always view this song as a conversation between God and someone who is suicidal. The lead singer is singing as God and the female singer is the person in crisis. God is telling her to come to him and that everything will be ok and when she does it will be The Last Night she will ever be alone because God will always be with her and protect her.

This is a very emotional song. I saw skillet live in concert and the lead singer told the interpretation that was meant for the song. It's about a girl who has had a secret life of cutting for years and is overwhelmed by her family issues. She has become incredibly suicidal and finally turns to GOD (the narrator of the song). When GOD finally steps into her life, she is not alone anymore.
