Lady Gaga: Judas Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Judas Lyrics
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Juda-a-a
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Gaga
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Juda-a-a
Judas, Juda-a-a, Judas, Gaga
When he...

Ok, this is so overwhelming, why do so many people get so defensive about religion, and why does everything have to have one absolute meaning? The song means whatever you want it to mean & however it is that you yourself interpret it and can apply it to life, and that is the beauty of art.
-
I agree with the top three. Lady GAGA is creating a movement and serving a certain type of group. She is gaining more power and has great influece world wide. Unfortunately, this has to happen. She is the piper of our time.
-
If she were Christian, she would not sing songs like that. Not even for money. Just saying.
-
First: Just listen and enjoy. No matter what the song's about, if you like it you like it. If you don't... don't listen to it.
I'm still interpreting the meaning of the song for myself, but really, there is a GIANT difference between the Church/organized religion and being a Christian. One can hate the church, and still be a Christian. If I were to blow this up (it's just a song about boyfriends to me using a poorly chosen metaphor) I would say that she is going against the church, not christianity. The church has done tons of wrong, and i don't think we've completely escaped that yet... I don't think destroying the church is the way to go, but reform is in order. But saying that Lady Gaga is the antichrist is jumping the ship a bit, don't you think?
Also... Not everything's about gay people!! Being gay isn't the freaking next progressive stage in humanity. Being married is a holy or political thing depending if you're religious or not... It's not human progress. Yes, we want equal rights, but to say that something that is generally acceptable in America now adays, save for marriage laws, etc. is also sort of crazy.
^^Just some things to consider. -
It surprises me to see the attention that the song is getting, and let's be serious, that is all Gaga wanted. Don't get me wrong, I just attended her concert this past month, but in a way this song is a disappointment. The song is basically talking about her ex-boyfriends, in a much dramatic and metaphorical kind of way. However, I see this as totally unnecessary. There was no need for such method. Let's face it, Gaga already has the attention, there was no need for more. I love Gaga, and her music. However, this was a disappointment.

Lady Gaga said she believed in god, but what does that mean really? The word "god" has many different meanings. It doesn't necessarily refer to a man in the clouds.
-
Maybe "a king with no crown" refer to her past lover that betray her that being a 'king control' on her? Make sense?
-
I would just like to say, as embellished and slightly convincing as your interpretations may be, I doubt nearly all of them. You all say that Lady Gaga wants to abolish religion, that she wants to end Christianity, but you all neglect the fact that she herself is a Christian. And you may say, "Well, she says so to fool the masses." But, personally, I have seen her live, and I heard her voice quiver as she admitted, to all of her fans, how greatly she believes in Jesus and God. Perhaps this song speaks to end established religion, but it in no way means to end a love for Jesus.
-
The method how the Antichrist lie to peolple is the method of the Relativity (RELATIVISM)! He tells you one think and then he said it was complete not meant like that, the antichrist want to confuse the people so the People at the end dont know what to believe into. Remember the Antichrist is a lier and murder. Dont let you confuse you.
-
Some of you people who are commenting are annoying the hell out of me. Gaga said herself this song was about relationships with boyfriends. And I should also inform you Gaga believes in God. She said it herself to a protester at one of her concerts. Stop assuming rubbish about people you don't even check your facts on.
-
These comments.. I had a good laugh and yet at the same time i am horrified but yet not surprised.
Maybe Judas is the people we love that claim to be christian but betray us as the bigots they are. Hate disguised as love.
"king with no crown" = arrogance. Describing Christianity once again. They all have the answers but are divided among themselves. Yet all claim they are right. -
Hey commenter at 9:25, I have read my bible. And it was not Judas who denied Jesus three times, it was Simon/Peter. It was the same night that Judas betrayed Jesus that this occurred. If you are going to attack people please be correct. It gives a bad name to all Christians when you are so hypocritical.
-
In the end of time, Jesus says the devil can fool even the elite. Sure, you listen to this song but you are not truly listening.
Lady Gaga is saying this song is about a former lover, but then she sings this verse:
"I'll bring him down
Bring him down, down
A king with no crown
King with no crown"
So her former lover was a king? And he also had a crown? I'm not sure what metaphor about a lover she is making there. She's clearly talking about Jesus, who is the King of the universe.
Revelation,22 verse 18-21 -
It's funny that ignorance is still blind. Her lyrics are not literal and in no way a form of worshiping the devil...they're always a comparison to her past and her reflections of the bad decisions that she's had with relationships. wow. BTW, people who are hypocritical and claim that everyone is sheep...isn't it strange that a "large" group of being following what one thing says is also considering being a follower or sheep. think about it.
