Alkaline Trio: Nose Over Tail Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Nose Over Tail Lyrics
To prove to you that I have brains
Meanwhile tin men are led by little girls
Down golden roads that lead to nowhere
Fine time to fake a seizure
Feel your mouth on mine, you're saving me
Whatever...

I think this song is a little about falling in love and falling in love, very honestly when you´re a wreck. You´d do anything to get that person to notice you, to think you´re cool (or to prove that you have brains) the "Meanwhile tin men are lead by little girls down golden roads that lead to nowhere" sounds like a clear Wizard of Oz reference to me, it´s a "heartless" guy being lead in hope to get a heart, but really, he doesn´t get one, they´re all fooled by the so called wizard.
Maybe you´re the kind of guy who falls in lust with everyone and have never known any better, you thought falling in lust was pretty much falling in love until this person shows up and changes everything, for the first time, it´s about what she wants and her dreams, and being there for her in stead of wanting her behind yours.
So it feels like somebody "saves" you from being a douchebag. as loud as it is, and as strong as it is, it´s saving you, like the sound of the sirens, or like the "kiss of life".
You feel confused, and you feel helplessly pulled or pushed, but you know it´s okay, like a plane crash, that never hits the grass, everything is so messed up inside of you, yet it feels right, and you feel like it´s going to be okay.
