Billie Eilish: What Was I Made For Meaning
What Was I Made For Lyrics
I used to know but I'm not sure now
What I was made for
What was I made for?
Takin' a drive, I was an ideal
Looked so alive, turns out, I'm not real
Just something you paid for
What was I made...

Coming from a person who has never watched the movie, we are putting the movie aside :p
My interpretation is that someone has been depressed or just generally sad and then they had learned to finally be happy again. But then, as time passed, the started getting depressed once again and they are questioning themselves of "What Was I Made For?". practically questioning their whole existence and not understanding what happened the first time and why shes not happy again. Wondering what happened to their joy, happiness, and now feeling depressed, and sad. -
a doll realised she is a doll and is questioning what she was made for, she has realized that she is something we have just bought, a doll. she most likely has been broken by this fact and has thought about it so much, most likely bringing her into a deep depression and she doesnt know how to feel about it. she wants to hide it from her boyfriend because he cant take this fact well
