   I have so much trouble doing that because last year, in sixth grade, I went to a new school and I was terrified to be not only new, but new in the last year of elementary school! We were going into middle school and high school! I felt like nobody would understand me. I was the shy new girl. All my life I had no trouble expressing myself, I put myself out into the world, I told the truth 99% of the time, and I was friends with everyone! I never stopped talking! When I went to my new school, it's as if something inside me snapped. I suddenly started worrying about what everyone thought of me. I shut down on myself. I slowly changed. I was scared of talking in front of large groups of people. I wasn't really friends with too many people. If it wasn't for these other three girls that immediately befriended me, I would've been alone. Earlier today (28-10-17, 10:04 AM) I remembered this song. I pretty much grew up listening to it, along with songs like The House That Built Me and The Story Of Us. Anyway, I listened mentally to it (I pretty much memorized it) and realized I had completely changed myself to please others. I was letting other get the best of me and hope they didn't judge me. I constantly try to look confident, which is why I'm such a good actress at age 12. My parents can't tell I lie 99% of the time now. Around home I'm loud and confident, and around my friends too. Around people I don't know, though, I'm more shy and insecure. I've become introverted and prefer staying away from other people perhaps in my bed watching movies and playing video games. Anyway, that's my story and when I found this website, I felt the need to say "This is what happened to me because I wasn't myself." Listen to this song and just be yourself. I would give anything to go back to before I changed. This song helps me remember to try sometimes to change back to my outgoing, fun, loud self that makes appearances more and more often nowadays. Hopefully my introverted self gives in more often.

   When i heard this song,i've already think that this song emphasized we need to be honest to our life.We need to be in our self because we have each other uniqueness and deep sense of appreciation in our common humanity.We are individuals with intrinsic self worth.Moreover,this song trying to express that we need to show our 'true colors'.We must know that we are sister and brothers inhabiting the planet earth.Way back when I'm in elementary,I'm trying to ask myself what is my gender reference? So I forward to what make me happy which is 'gay'.Dont be afraid to show who you are because you're only the one who knows everything within yourself.

   I think this song is about comparing humans to fireworks. And if you listen to the lyrics... it sounds like she believes the Chinese are taking over the world. I know I'm not the only one with this view... there are hundreds of articles on the topic and Katy Perry wanted to show her support through this song to raise awareness. Spread the truth.

    This song has meaning. She believes in this person until the end. She feels down, like she can't do it. But, she knows this other person can. She knows they have a spark, and, even though she can't be as good as they can, she wants to encourage them. She knows they have potential. They have a destiny, and she wants to do her bit to help.
