Katy Perry: Firework Meaning
Song Released: 2009
Firework Lyrics
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no...
-
I think that it means to never stop trying and put your heart in to it

I think this is one of the most greatest ever written!!
It is very inspirational, and it always makes me feel better after I've had a rough day because it tells me that yes! I'm not the only one with problems and everyone is unique in their own special way. I really wanted to sign up for my school talent show but my friend kept saying, that " what the heck?" you picked such stupid song and all that stuff but I didn't really care of what she said and now I'm practicing for the big day!!!! -
I think it is about finding your own way in life by lighting the spark in you. It is very inspirational. It may be aimed towards people with not a lot of self-confidence. Also, it is saying to be yourself and let your potential show. If you are having a bad day, this song is sure to cheer you up! :D

Fireworks is an inspirational song that shows us that no one's perfect but that we are all beautiful and different in our own special way. It's a song that is supposed to make you realize that your an amazing person whether your "wierd", fat, homosexual, emo, or you simply have problems. This song will put a smile on your face and most importantly give you hope:)

I think the song is saying be yourself and be proud of it. Why do you care if you get made fun of? You are who you are and be proud of it!

I loathe pop music, but I have a daughter who listens to it, so I am forced to listen to the lyrics because I want to know what the messages are. this song is the exception to what is being played these days. It has a positive message about self confidence in the midst of popular culture and the media that constantly tells young women what their shortcomings are. Or , even worse, it could be like any Kesha song- simply a celebration of being stupid and making bad decisions. I know, the parents are supposed to teach are kids what is right and wrong. Trust me, im THAT parent. Im not letting tv and music raise my kids. Im just saying that when the songs have lyrics like these, it makes my job easier and I appreciate that.

Katy Perry is trying stand up for who you are no matter what you have, where you come from just show people your MORE than what you appear to be. (There's a spark in you) Watch the video it'll make MORE sense. PS:I am the same person who answered Teenage Dream! -KatyPerrylover

Its about expressing your self nobodys perfect so don't stress about your flaws, they are what make us human. So what if your chubby or homosexual, sure people will make fun of you but so what? People can be mean. I'm sure you've talked about someone behind their back before. Just be you're self and don't care what other people think, I had to learn this lesson the hard way. It's not good to have low self esteem but not good to have too high self esteem. Think of your self as equal to every one else because you are! Stand up for your self and dont take crap from nobody! They arent any better than you! That is what Katy is tryin to get through to you guys.

I think that this song means that you shouldn't care what other people think about you, you shouldjust be yourself, and the people who truly love you for you will support you, and the people who don't- weel, then they are missing out on a great person. It doesn't matter if you're gay, lesbian, a little chubby. You should stand up for yourself, and that you have to remember that life has it's ups and downs, but you have to remember that things will get better.

I think that this song was mainly targeted at anyone that has low self-esteem. The message in the song is very strong and meaningful. Firework is basically about pride in one’s self and letting your “true colors” show- without worrying about what other people think of you. In other words, the song is basically telling us to be who we are and not what others want us to be.
It is also is telling us to embrace our flaws- because they are what makes each one of us unique. We should also be proud of ourselves and stay motivated enough to reach our goals without letting anybody or anything stop us. -
Katy Perry obviously made this songs to encourage people to stand up for themselves and what they believe in. One can look at this in a general way, but recent interviews with Katy Perry reveal that she was trying to send a message to the homosexual community. She believes it is not wrong to be gay, and that gays around the world should show themselves and be proud of who they are. Be bright, brilliant, and proud, like a firework.
